Is Roy Jones one of the very best ever?

He hardly lost a round in his prime,he lead with a right hand (yes he was that good!) and defeated everybody.
He is the favourite against anybody at middle and few at light-heavy would stood a chance (Bob Foster maybe).
If you look at what he accomplished at his prime how is it possible so many posters here hate the guy or do you believe the fighters he never met (Benn-Liles-Eubank-Collins-Dariusz M.)would beaten him. I don't.

Definite...Yes. He lost to Tarver....big deal. All that means is that he is not invincible. Nobody is. Most or maybe even alll of the greats have losses.

Im not sure boxing has seen such a great athlete before.

But speed and flash dont mean everything, he wasnt the best ever in any division he fought in. But that doesnt mean he couldnt beat some, if not most, of the guys ranked ahead of him.

I was never a huge fan of Roy but at his peak he was a joy to watch.

Who was better at 168, or 175. I challenge you to a legit debate. Toney, Hopkins, Ruiz (Because of HW) are his biggest victories and he dominated them all.

Roy Jones is one of the greatest fighters of all time. The man's speed, reflexes and power were unbelievable. I do not think Roy was an all time great at middle weight. I mean, don't get me wrong, he is up there and he would give a good account of himself against anyone, but I think he was better at light heavy and super middle. Here, Roy was a monster. A lot of people berate Roy, they say he faced soft opposition(B hop, James Toney, Virgil Hill, Mike McCallum) he had a dodgy chin(he was ko'ed twice, neither of which was in his prime in 54 pro fights) he dodged people, which I find hard to believe. The man is a future hall of famer, and talent like his is few and far in between.

Roy Jones Jr is DEFINITELY one of the best of all time. He was dominant throughout his entire career and only dropped a couple of fights in total. He was quick and powerful and went a year or two defending his titles without losing a round!!!(In my opinion). He must be put up as ONE of the greatest ever.

I think the answer to this question is a resounding yes.

The man was blessed with the most unbelievable talent to completely control a fight in his prime. To judge the hitting distance to perfection and to have lighting reflexes, excellent footwork and superb handspeed he was without doubt the finest boxer I have ever seen in my lifetime.

His accomplishments speak for themselves. Super talented guy, but like all fighters with unorthodox styles, he became less effective as he put the stress of weight and age on his body. Had he stayed at LH and finished his career there I believe he would have stayed undefeated.
