With Katsidis becoming full champion and #3 Nate Campbell fighting Diaz for the WBA and IBF belts. If khan beat this dannish bloke he and Peterson will be #1 and #2 ranked by the WBO.

That would mean a World Title eliminator between two of the youngest and highly rated prospects in Boxing.

Both with high knockout percentages.

Both have fought pretty decent opposition so far but i don't really know enough about Peterson. still gonna go with Khan.

Seems most governing bodies have them about the same to, with Khan higher in 2 and Peterson in the other 2.

Peterson has quite a high knock out % and a few questions have been asked about khan's chin so could be close, however for some reason i cant help thinking khan would win and i dont no why!

Khan on the basis I've barely heard of Anthony Peterson, and his name is extremely mundane in comparison

I have no idea. Khan is hyped to feck. Which means that everyone hates him automatically. Which is unfair because he has talent.

Good lord - Peterson would ANNIHILATE the glass-jawed Khan. There is a REASON he fights extremely light-hitting tomato cans, people!! :nod

Peterson has been fighting guys with power though, while Khan continues to fight feather-fists. Willie Limond put him down.. Peterson will knock him clean out. Khan is being protected for a reason. Guy has no chin
:nod my thought on the matter as well.

Khans handspeed and power are immense. Any fighter can get knocked down from a shot and its better it happened at the early stage in his career for his development so i'm going for Amir.

I still believe he will win a world title but whether he becomes the superstar he wants to i have no idea

Fuck it. I will go with Khan he gets so much abuse on this site thats un called for. He has a handspeed and a power advantage over Peterson.

Khan late TKO.

i have seen a few anthony ARUUHHHHHHHHHHH peterson fights, and imo the talent level is not comparible.

now that does not stop peterson from winning, he might hang tough and drop a perfectly timed right over the top and khan might not be able to take it and be ko`d.

but looking at it objectivley , khan if mirrored against peterson and say they matched jabs and fought from the outside is going to littreally bamboozle peterson with his speed.

khans hands and feet are so much faster than petersons and peterson dropping his hands so much is going to be an easy target, that petersons best chance would be to turn bomber and stalker, because his jab and boxing from the outside are just not going to get the job done against khan.
he will be picked off and not have time to counterpunch before being bombed.

khans straight punching style IMO would prove to much.

peterson is stronger looking than khan , and if he could trap khan against the ropes and unleash nice short precise punches he has in his armoury he might overpower khan , but skillwise and speedwise khan is a level above peterson.

Amir Khan is probably more talented, but he's still naive, very young, he's not been hit with anything substantial and he's not got a great chin. Until he gets more rounds under his belt and gets used to being hit he's going to be in danger against world class opposition.

He's not been hit very often in his career so far because he's totally overwhelmed the guys he's fought, and when he has he's not taking it well. Willi Limond is a good strong fighter but he's not puncher, but he had Khan seconds away from being stopped. I think his chin will improve with experience, and his ability to cope when hurt will improve too, but until then he stands a risk of getting beat. He's 21 so he's got another 15 years of career ahead of him, he's far from the finished article.

In time Khan will get bigger and stronger and I reckon he'll probably end up somewhere around middleweight by the time he retires. He will win world titles in more than one weight division. But he will also probably get beat, and stopped, on the way.

In about 5 or 6 years though I think Khan would destroy Peterson, because in terms of natural talent only Gamboa can compete.

Yeah. I think Khan is more hurtful shot for shot.

Even IF this is true - and, at best, it's debatable - the key issue is that he can't take punches even from light hitters without hitting the deck!!

There is a REASON his management has fed him one extremely light-hitting fighter after another. And even one of THOSE guys had him on the deck!!

lol dude khan has fought guys with single digit KOs on their record, They will NOT put him in there with Anthony Peterson. Peterson is a big 135lber and is very fast and strong. He will BRUTALLY KO Khan.

Yeah it is true. But I was saying that Khan had a harder punch. I think Peterson would get outboxed.

And if Khans chin did betray him he would be up on points at the time.

Peterson is cut from the same cloth as Floyd in terms of skill and style, he has the frame to go all the way to welter, this is a fight that Khan could lose… but saying that Khan and Peterson are equal in terms of skill and power.

It’s a 50/50 fight IMO.

I don't doubt that's possible - Khan has great boxing ability, he just doesn't have the durability to make it in this sport, and his handlers KNOW it, which is why they're matching him with such extremely light-hitters.:yep
