Yeah, you´re right, that wouldn´t be that sure, because of Jones Jr.´s speed and his reflexes, but IMO sooner or later he would hit him with a good shot, what do you mean?

Personally, I'd say that Sharkey's position as a rather small heavyweight would mean that they're fairly evenly matched physically. I would agree that Sharkey would have difficulty connecting, but he may have more success if/when he can rough Jones up on the inside.

Well, Sharkey's game was mostly inside. If Jones was to keep the fight on the outside the whole time and use his speed to dodge Tom's lunges and rushes, then I say he takes a UD.

Depends upon whether the ref would separate the clinches, really. Sharkey came from an era of excellent feinters, and while Jones is probably better (due to reflexes) against that than most, he would still be vulnerable. In the earlies, fighters were quite good at setting up their rushes.

Sharkey was a human tornado. The Speedy Joe Choynski and Jim Corbett could not keep Sharky off of them.. Roy Jones has blazing fast hands, but he was never a dancer type that Corbett was, and seemed to get stuck on the ropes or the corners.

Sharkey would quickly expose Roy Jones fear of getting hit, and either score a knock out or get DQ'd while trying.

Sharkey would have difficulty connecting and on the few occassions he does it doesn't mean he will put Roy away. Jones has been hit by Hopkins, Ruiz, Toney and many other solid punches and he never went down. Even the man who has given Jones the moniker of bad chin could only do it once out of three attempts.
