Another Mexico/Puerto Rico rivilary....15 rounds at Featherweight.

Gomez by a decision, a lopsided one at that. Featherweight was not, however, Gomez's best division. He was at his all-time best at junior feather. I think Wilfredo's power diminished incrementally each time he entered a heavier weight class.

Dont you think that this should be done at 122 ? Where Gomez is probably the greatest ever, and where Morales was one of them and at his humgriest? What a fight!
Gomez is not getting a K.O. in this one! Morales probably a better all-rounder, but he makes lots of mistakes, drops his hands for instance , not good against Gomez, like i said, not that Gomez would stop him, but he may land enough to bulid up a lot of points. Morales would contest this all the way (as if you expected anything else). This could go either way actualy, Morales' class may show and win it for him. But i think Gomez.

At 126 i think Morales would win it though

Teeto, I thought the fight might be closer at 126(?) Gomez was a monster at 122, and Morales seemed stronger at 126...:think

Oh , i think Morales then , might stop him . Think of Morales' tenure at 126, i thought he beat Barrera, he was outstanding there. He was great at 122 though

At 122 is where this fight should be made, considering it's both fighters best weights. I'd probably favor Gomez there, in a great fight.

122: Gomez
126: Morales

Both were clearly at their best when they were super bantamweights. As they moved up in weight, they lost a step. But at 126, I think Morales was better.

A question, why did Gomez lose so much power moving up to 126 when he only moved up four pounds?

I know Gomez was fantastic...but I think I'll take Morales both at 122/126...Morales by decision.

He was just able to train down and make weight @ 122.....then he was
just physically so much bigger & stronger than his opponents.

Kinda like the joke about Rocky Graziano: "He is the best middleweight
in the welterweight division" when he was crshing smaller men.
