I think Joel has a great chance to win. He will easily be the best fighter Kirkland has fought. Kirkland's defence still needs some work. He applies alot of pressure but leave himself too open at times. Remember, Kirkland got dropped in his last fight by Allen Conyers. If Joel catches him flush, it could be goodnight for Kirkland. It's a 50/50 fight for me.

Kirkland was definately stunned when he went down. His legs weren't completely adter the knockdown. His legs buckled from the right hook after he gets up... but he recovered quickly... I think the knockdown helped him out too because it gave him another 10 seconds to get his legs back while Conyers was down.... but the pressue he applies is crazy... he didn't let up one second of that fight.

He was stunned but I told my girl that kirkland was going to knock the other dude out even at the moment when he got put on his ass. I knew he would get up and fight harder and recover quick. He is a adrenaline type fighter and it is hard to keep a guy like that down. She laughed at me and thought he was done...Well the results speak.

Julio might not be a smart fighter, but he is Willie fucking Pep compared to Kirkland. Don't get me wrong. I like both guys, and they make for some damn entertaining fights. Well, he makes up for it a little with his ferioucity. That can play a big role on a fighter that is mentally weak and cant handle pressure situations. Sure you can catch kirkland with some good shots. But are you going to be able to do it enough to stop him? Are you going to put him out with one shot. Is he going to keep coming at you throwing hurtfull punches? Hell yes he is. Julio is not no Willie Pep to nobody. He is good at setting up his shots in a CONTROLLED pace. He is kind of slow as well. He would get unravelled if Kirkland goes after him. I tell you that much. His defense is not all that great either.

Jesus, this fight would be explosive. I like Kirkland better overall, but Julio projects to do well against that style.

I really hope this bout happens, but I think it's a little early for it and it probably won't.

Haven't seen Julio since his fight directly after Quintana. Seemed to have lost all his confidence at the time. How does he look now? Kirkland has great offense but needs to work on his defense.
