Stylistically at least, Toney would be right in it. Greb would sure make him fight.

Obviously. James Toney can give more or less anyone a tough night. Even Roy Jones was made to miss shots that he just isn't used to missing. I think only Griffin made Jones miss shots in the same way.

Toney may have made him look silly -at least until Toney got winded. He was an elusive banger at his best who could make strong offense -even swarmers, look costly.

But Greb could take over later based on sheer malevolence and superior stamina. Especially if Toney is fat.

one thing is, greb can't beat toney by KO.

Not if he fights like Dave Tiberi who body punched Toney and gave him a bad beating, Greb would have stopped him with body shots and Mickey Walker also but I think Harry would just win UD, Tiberi gave Toney a beating

Yes. Though Haggler may have handed him his head.

It's the style clash i'm most interested in.

Anyone brave enough to go for a Toney win?

well from what we know of greb he was a workrate machine he would not stop throwing punches. he didnt have the whiplash knockout power but the wearing down effect of the punches.

um i havnt got time

I can't see Greb having much difficulty with Toney. Toney tended to be drained there, and could only fight hard in spurts (funny how things don't change much). A skilled fighter like Greb would exert such a workrate and pressure on Toney that he wouldn't be able to hang.

Greb UD

Judging by the limited amount of footage on "the human windmill," it looks as though his nick name refers to his technique as much as it does his volume of punchers. If I had to choose based on this, I would say Toney sees these punches coming a mile away. Greb would be in fore a night similar to Iran Barkley.

I just don't think a realistic view of Greb can be made head to head. There is not enough footage of his fights to analyze his style.

I am not picking Toney, I don't think it is fair in this situation. You can argue Greg is better on paper, but you have no argument to make about who was better on film.

A peak James Toney ,not that weight drained caricature that Jones Jnr humbled, gives anyone problems imo.

The one who fought Barkley, then sure.

I think Greb is overated a bit in H2H sense compared to modern fighters. That said I'd say Greb would take a some sort of decison. But a SD for Toney wouldn't surprise me.
