let him go out with a bang. a last hurrah.

after his last two performances i think he would be deserving enough (by todays standarts) get one.

euros like erdei and woods fought guys like paul murdoch and jason delisile.

and even a 39 year old jones is far ahead of those guys.

hell, anthony hanshaw is far better than those dopy challengers!!!

and jones would at least have a realistic chance of winning vs the like of danny green, woods and maybe even erdei.

It's not about the euros not giving Jones a chance it's Jones not giving the euros a chance. Erdei and his management has virtually begged Jones to accept a mandatory position. He refused several times.

NO! I was afraid this would happen once Roy beat Tito fan would think he was back.. Look Roy beat over weight Jr middle who was 2 years retired , who also had no business fighting at 170 under any circumstances .

because of the size difference and Tito lack of power at 170 Roy was able to soak up Tito best shots , which Roy took a lot of I might add!
If Roy lets a full fledge super middle or Lt Heavy get off those type of shots it might not go well :-(

but he did beat anthony hanshaw........a pretty solid super middleweight prospect in his own right. he took his punches, no problem. so i see no big problem there.

and that prince whatever his name was roy beat before that would have qualifiied as a challenger in germany, britian and so on.

so NO, he is not a deserving challenger by classic standarts. but he IS qualified enough by TODAYS STANDARTS!!

add the fact that he is a legendary former champ and a future HALL OF FAME LOCK.............and you have a very solid argument.

or what did larry holmes do to get a shot at tyson??

and that aside, i think he could beat ordinary champs like woods or green.
or at least be very competative.

that should be enough i think.

Have him fight Zsolt Erdei or Clinton Woods. He has better chances against them than he does against Danny Green (who hits too hard for him now) or Chad Dawson.

if a totally shot evander holyfield could get a title shot recently, i see no reason why jones shouldn't.

Danny Green may punch hard, but he is extremely stiff and very orthadox. Watch the way Mundine totally outboxed him. Roy would be too much for Danny in terms of skill, as even at this stage of his career, Roy is far and away the better technical fighter. His hands would simply be to fast, and Danny is guilty often of not letting his hands go enough. Danny Green would not pose any problems to Roy that Tito didn't present, apart from higher punching power.

I think he'll get one.

Roy may not have been a huge draw, but he's still one of the bigger names/draws in boxing.

At the end of the day, money tends to rule.

Thats a sick joke, he beat a retired fighter whos prime was 23 pounds below what he fought at.

What division would it even be at? The imaginary 170lb division?

He has a chance against Hopkins and Green. The other Champs might be a bit too rough for him at this stage.

The fight with Tito shows me that Jones should just retire, he just doesn;t have it anymore. If that was Glen Johnson, Jones loses again. Glen Johnson could take his punch, so there willl be no KDs, and Johnson is a bigger puncher than Tito at 170 lbs.

Why not I though rjj fought a perfect fight against tito Imo you will see RJJ get a title shot and win the strap to boot. Credit were credit is due thats 2 good wins and 1 ok win.

RJJ is way over the hill but he's not that shot yet. He's still a solid top 10 LHW. He's certainly more deserving than guys like Jason DeLisle, Epifanio Mendoza or Danny Santiago.

Roy looked ok but he seams to be so flat footed these days and he doesn't throw the combos he use to:deal
He seams to be more intent on planting his feet and landing power shots but in saying that he couldn't even stop a welterweight who'd been retired for over 2 years :patsch
I'd love to see Danny Green offer rjj a title shot because roy is getting tagged a lot more often these days and if Greeny hits roy with a big right hand it will game over for jones.!
