I like the fact Lennox got better and better with age compensating for his slight decline of physical skills with guile and intelligence. And he left on top.

Lewis was the more well rounded fighter IMO and more consistent. Aside from 2 well placed shots on this chin he had a near flawless career.

Depends.

If we are talking P4P ATG, then Holyfield ranks higher.

But HW ATG, I have Lewis at #3 whereas Holyfield at #5.

Everyone conveniently forgets the incredible cruiserweight run he had. Unifying all titles and beating Qawi twice and Carlos De Leon.

yes pound4pound is definitely Holyfield by a large margin. At Heavyweight I would still rate Holyfield above Lewis; but I could see the argument being made for Lewis.

If its p4p all time....then it is Holyfield by a MILE!

Holyfield, easily. He dominated two divisions. Lewis got a gift in their second fight. Lewis was fortunate to catch Holy and Tyson past their peaks. Holy would fight anyone, anywhere, anytime.

No he won fair and square in the 2nd fight and Holy got a gift draw in the first, Tyson ducked Lewis as did Bowe due to him being such a big threat and hard to market.

HOLYFIELD. EASILY!!!!!

At heavy Lewis is better due to the wins over EH which raise his ATG stock
but that is not enough to overtake what Holy has done.

I rank fighters more on the fights they tried to set up.

Holyfield is not only still fighting but still trying to challenge the best at his weight.

That is earning him cred.Yeah, Saverese, bates and oquendo are the best at the weight for sure lol. A bigger list of bums you wont see other than in wlads last couple of fights.

Fuck your pound for pound shite.....The question is who is a greater ATG, and thats Lewis hands down

There is no comparison. Lewis was a glass-jawed, naturally large man who needed Manny Steward's help to rescue his career.

Holyfield is better than Lewis just from what he accomplished as a cruiserweight. You throw in that he has won the HW belt 4 times or whatever, twice beat Tyson, defeated Foreman, got robbed so bad in the 2nd fight with Lewis that Larry Merchant was telling upset Holyfield fans that they were getting their own medicine (meaning that HBO darling Lewis was robbed in the first Holy-Lewis fight. That is, Merchant was admitting Holy should have won the second fight), and fought men who regularly outweighed him by 25+ lbs.

Lewis is a pimple on Holyfield's ass. He is nothing compared to Holyfield.

Idiot! :patsch

Wlad fought Peter, Byrd, Brock & Austin. No other beltholder is facing nearly the variety of boxing styles with their sorry defenses.

Austin was his mandatory, thanks to Don KIng and he had a draw with current beltholder Sultan Ibragimov in case you forgot.

Brock is only concidered nothing now by people like you because of how Wlad KO'd him. The truth is he was undefeated, showed great heart in getting off the canvas to almost KO McCline and go on to beat him. He also had the KO of the year vs. Zuri Lawrence. No one had beaten him before or since, let alone KO him.

Holyfield's recent bouts against Savarese, Bates & Oquendo don't even come close. Imagine the uproar if Wlad announced he was fighting any of them next.

Give credit where credit is due.

glass jawed?come on man,he only got dropped twice(admittedly stopped both times)but he took some hefty digs in hid career&he dominated every fighter of his generation(the 1s that wud fight him anyway)1 of the few fighters to beat everyone he faced as a pro

Nice avatar, Gabby. I totally agree with your conclusion on this debate.

Lewis made the best out of his natural assets. Basically, he was a bully, and he liked to muscle smaller men. Manny Steward did an excellent job helping Lenny hide his incredibly weak mandible.

But there's a reason why Len retired after he hit the 'cut lottery' against Vitali K.: He met a larger, stronger, hungrier man and he didn't want any more of that. Confronted with someone he couldn't bully, Len knew it was all over.

Unlike Lewis, Holy was all heart, guts and chin. His beard was so strong it's amazing. I respect Len Lewis; I truly admire Holyfield and his competitive spirit. Yes, he's a hypocrite (illegitimate kids) and I believe a performance-enhancing drug abuser, but his will to compete and win is truly astonishing. What he did to Tyson in their first fight was one of the greatest moments in the sport's history.

Lewis was a solid titleholder. Damn solid.

Holyfield is a legend, in two divisions. And he's not done yet.

Exactly. Even at HW alone Holyfield is higher. You never saw him taken out early by second raters when he the title and he actually fought the other top guys of his era when they had something left.

Lewis is probably the most overrated of top level HW champs. And he is the ONLY one taken out early multiple times when he held the title. The ONLY one.:yep

You're right, it's not even close!!!!!

Lewis has two 1-punch KO defeats. That's not good on anyone's record, let alone someone who is a supposed 'all-time great.' Holyfield, who is FAR smaller than Lewis, has how many 1-punch KO losses? 1? In Bowe-Holy II, I think.

Lewis is like the 7 foot guy in a dunk contest - it's just not that impressive. Holyfield is the 6 foot guy who has to give everything and is therefore much more appreciated. I remember how disgusted I was when Lewis got the decision against Mercer. That's when I knew Lewis was nothing special. He was a very large man with a good right hand. A credit to the sport, for sure, but more than anything the right guy at the right time. That he elevated Hasim Rahman to champion status is one of the sorrier chapters in HW history.

If you want to nitpick then what about Ruiz, Toney, Bowe and all the other guys that beat Holyfield (including Lewis himself), you can say "oh well Roidyfield was shot" but can you honestly say Lewis was at his best against Rahman? no you cant because he was unmotivated. No wonder promoters protect their fighters look what happens otherwise.
