It's good for endurance .... used in a well orchestrated boxing training regime it really does work wonders.

Iv not started boxing yet but i do jump rope pretty damn well even if i do say so myself lol. And i play football (soccer) about 3-4 times a week and its helped me become faster and my legs are stronger and i can sprint flat out down the wing or w/e and recover in no time. I play defense and it pisses of the opposition when the get pass me and i catch them in a couple seconds lol my favourite form of exercise iv been tellin all the people that play they should get a rope!:good

Jumping has many benifits including; cardiovascular, balance, coordination, speed and foot work and strength (especially if you use a heavy rope).

I'm 265 pounds, pro wrestle and Jump at least 5 times a week for 30 minutes and it's helped me tremendously! Here is a 1 minute example of my 30 min routine....excuse the cell phone quality.
