Does he have any chance of winning at all?
To be frank, i don't think it's likely that he outboxes Povetkin. But say he does, how likely is it that he receives a decision? Germany is basically Povetkin's home town, he's fought all his fights there. I think the only way Chambers wins it if he wins by an extreme wide margin (which is a negligble chance) or if he stops Povetkin (which is equally unlikely).
Basically, i don't see how this fights does anything more than marketing/name building and experience for Chambers.

Maybe you should check out the MULTIPLE THREADS on the subject and visit decebal's analyis and prediction thread which has around 2,700 views and decebals TO STOP NOT TO STOP Avatar Challenge.
I'll cathc ya up, with somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 votes and many a response, its roughly 78-80% in favor of Povetkin winning. A good 40% believe by KO.

We travelled to fight on a Sauerland event in Mannheim Germany against Povetkin a couple of years ago..
We had such a shitty experience that i would never reccomend fighting against a house fighter in Germany especially for Wilfred Sauerland...
We had rooms booked in the worse part of the hotel next to 24 hour drilling and hammering ..
The beds in our rooms were like they were made for 10 year old dwarves..
They changed our fight from the 8 rounds we signed for to six to just suit the newly turned pro Povetkin on a days notice..
They then wanted to take 2 rounds of cash from us saying the fight rounds were pay related ( we soon fucking corrected this by threatening to pull out)
On fight night we were given no ice for our corner, we had to pay for it in a special lounge set up for a Klitchko winning celebration, ( even though the main event KLit v Byrd hadn't been fought yet)
We were given cloudy water in bottles that had had thier seales broken...
We were given gloves for our event and when we were 15 mins to the fight , had them taken so it caused chaos in our changing room..
We were only given 2 places to get taken from the hotel to Frankfurt airport not the three as we were initially promised so we had to pay 130 dollars to get taxi there almost missing our flights..
Sauerland does everything to fuck with foreign visitors..
It was a fucking shambles..
BTW Povetkin won on pts over 6 ..
Our fighter was Friday Ahunanya..

Eddie Chambers has a better chance of winning than most people think - he has excellent reflexes, he hits harder than most people believe, and he's as sound defensively as any heavyweight.
This is a great matchup between two very talented young heavyweights! :bbb

I heard you complain about that before.
Ahunanya fought well, though. I like him. His defence is excellent; Povetkin couldn't consistently connect to force a stoppage. Alexander was one class too high for him though.

It will be like normal which means that if he wants/needs to win on points he has to do it SO convincing that there is absolutaly no doubt Povetkins wins more then say 3 rounds max. If he doesn't totally dominate him but does win 6-8 rounds Povetkin will take it imo

Is this fight live in Germany? If so, I assume we'll get a round by round at about 4 PM here in the US?

Interesting read indeed, but in all honesty.. Friday was carried out on a stretcher, two more rounds wouldn't of done any good to him :deal

I cant see Team Chambers tolerating that:nono Goosen and Mcgirt would have to see otherwise.

I'm Dutch, so i see just about every fight in germany worth seeing on free tv, and i think the story about foreign fighters getting shafted over there is for the most part a myth. I don't know about the way fighters get treated (they most often say they had a great time in Germany), but as far as decicions go, i think they're pretty fair outside of Nicolay Valuev fights. I've actually seen foreign fighters get dodgy verdicts in THEIR favour on Germany. And in any case, i'm convinced that more foreign fighters get screwed on the cards in the USA.

It starts at 22:35 Berlin time - that's 1:35 pm Pacific and 4:35 Eastern time. It will be broadcast live on ARD TV in Germany. There will be a broadcast on Russian TV as well at that time.

I've seen reports there's a LIVE, LEGAL Stream on another site ........scene at 22:35 German Time?
Seen other Pay Sites advertising it. One that looked tempting to join, so yes there's gotta be a stream somewhere.
Can anyone pop a link here?

Chambers got a decent chance of winning, Chambers is the better boxer, Povetkin is the better puncher. Chambers hand speed is amazing, which reminds me of a young Chris Bryd. I dont see Chambers getting knocked out, possibly stopped, but Im guessing it will end in decision for Povetkin.

Ahunanya was a good fight as I remember it. He came to win.
I've not seen Chambers fight.
Living in Germany I've seen most or all of Povetkin's fights.
The thing to remember when scoring fights from Germany/Europe is a Jab counts, cuffing don't count as a scoring punch.
I have seen a few fights where the home town boy got a Home town decision like Forman vs Schulz or DHL vs Strum or A Bayer fight vs that Canadian, which I scored a draw. .....
And No Reed vs Ottka, was throwing cuffing illegal punches so were not scored.... and then changed his strategy in the 8th so lost...had he stayed doing what he was doing, he'd won.
Hill won vs Maske for real....that second thing was nearly as big a robbery as Patterson vs Ellis. Hill won the first 6 rounds and 2 of the last six easy.
Hill lost a good fair fight vs Arslan.
The Germans took the criticism of their fights, so you do not have any German judge scoring a major fight with a German in it, out side of German vs German.
Why do those fighters fight in Gemany, for the more money than they would ge in the US.

I cant help but like Chambers by decision in this fight. I think he will be able to beat Povetkin to the punch more often than not. Will he get a fair decision in Germany? I hope so, it really tarnishes a fight when the judges put the screw job on a fighter.
I think both Povetkin and Chambers are good fighters. Bright futures for both. I also think people have underated Chambers some and overated Povetkin a bit. It seems like in the rush to find a "great" heavyweight Povetkin gets overated some. He's good and has been impressive so far, but I'm not sold on his greatness yet. Tonight will give us a lot of answers to both fighters and the division as well.
