While doing some research on a few mixed martial artists' records, I came upon a site that had the wages for the last UFC Fight Night posted. This is what I was able to glean from the post -

"In the aftermath of a UFC event, one of the most interesting things that I like to check up on are the injuries from the event and the cha ching salaries. The results of Ultimate Fight Night 12 (UFN 12) have been released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The results… Nate Diaz brought home the most dough, 30 big ones, while Alvin Robinson brought home $7,000. Second runner up, Patrick Cote ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), $28,000, McFedries, 10 grand to take it on the chin. Swick, the main event, $20,000 over Burkman’s $10,000. Some fights that weren’t air - Corey Hill ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), 16k, Matt Wiman, 16k and Gray Maynard, 16k."

That seems like decent pay....ranging from $7K to $30K, with the average being ~$16K. Anyone else's thoughts on this? I expected it to be WAY less, honestly - I figured most of these guys were "semi-pro" and would be fighting for mere peanuts and publicity.

Considering most of the fighters on the card are either relative or absolute no-names, and this was a free Spike TV card...

The numbers aren't stellar, but if MMA is just something you do on the side....a $16K purse would be nice for one night's work.
