Cung Le

I've been ever so slowly getting into MMA for a year or so. But, even before then, after Friday Night Fights a few years ago they would show K1 fights and Cung Le was on there. He has some crazy record in his area of expertise...Chinese Boxing maybe? An overall MMA record of like 40-2. However, he has never fought anyone I heard of, but like I said, I'm not a huge fan. To make a long post short, what's the scoop with 34 year old Cung Le?

Yea, his background is San Sho, which does come from China. San Sho is basically kickboxing with takedowns.

Just moving into MMA recently, hasn't really fought a big name yet, is supposed to fight Frank Shamrock soon.

It's possible, but Frank isn't quite damaged goods yet, I don't think...the sport just evolved past him.

The fight basically comes down to two things:

1. Is Cung Le a can?

2. Has MMA evolved past Shamrock/is he too old and/or shot?

Its not out of the question, but Cung is there to get hit and Frank has good power on his punches.

Cungs got at least decent takedown defense and Franks knees take away alot of his takedown ability which isn't world class anyway.

That said, I think Frank will win, which sucks. Frank might even KO him, but if it goes to the ground Frank will almost certainly win.
