What do you guys think. Can Baer beat Sanders with his laruping, or does the big south paw dutchman clean his clock?

Given the fact that Baer has one of the weakest defenses of any champion i've ever seen, Sanders certainly has a shot of stopping him (especially with modern referees). But more likely is Sanders winning the first 4-5 rounds in one-sided fashion, then tiring as he always did and getting knocked out before the 7th.

Completely depends on his motivation. Variable that way.

He's been knocked out in the first round multiple times.

He had a near granite chin against Vitali.

Anyway, Max beats him.

A weak chin was not Corrie Sanders' problem. He actually had a pretty good chin. The major issue for Sanders was stamina. He did not always show up in the best condition for a long term ordeal, and in fact, always did his best work in the early rounds. My guess is that Baer could beat him if this fight goes late, as Max was more accustomed to fighting into the later rounds, but I also think Corrie could have stopped him early.

I know you didn't mean it that way, but you've just insulted Sanders big time. It's a very derogatory term for Afrikaners here.

Sorry about that. I wasn't aware that referring to a South African Citizen as a Dutchman was viewed as offensive. We learn something every day.

What's to be sorry for? You didn't know.

I don't know why Afrikaners find it offensive really, but they do.

Assuming he's in good shape and motivated, Sanders uses his speed and southpaw stance and stops Max in 5 or 6.

Sanders had so much natural talent. He would outweigh Max and be slightly taller too. Sanders fought a gallant fight against Vitaly Klitschko. He showed a great chin and a world of guts and heart. However, I don't think big Max had weaknesses that a fighter of Sanders' caliber could exploit. I mean, Sanders was good but we're not talking Joe Louis or Marciano here. Sanders hits Baer with some good shots early. Max smiles sardonically in recognition that the blows caught his attention. Max punishes the big south african steadily and puts him away in the 8th round.

good matchup Magoo! This would be a great fight to watch for fans!
