1 or 2 cups of coffee a day will not harm you or affect you in any way.

its a good stimulent , only think it might harm you is if you take it near bed time and you struggle to sleep.

According to mens health magazine a cup of coffee or tea after training can actually HELP speed up your recovery time

A little coffee is actually good for you. Just don't drink a whole pot.. Full of anti oxidants, caffein in small amounts isn't bad for you at all, is actually a good stimulant that helps transport some B vitamins.

1 cup a day is not bad for you at all. It has antioxidants so it actually has benefits. These are usually the same people who are sucking down five soda's a day but fail to see how it's bad for them.

People that say this and that is bad for you but can give no valid reasons, should shut the hell up

yeah, I used to think it was bad for you, but then I read a few articles online talking about how it reduced cancer risks and what not (wasn't exactly relevant to me), then starting noticing that it was a decent thing - the caffeine is beneficial in proportionate amounts, it has a bunch of natural ingredients in it. I wouldn't put any artificial sweetener in it though. and I may be incorrect, but I thought I saw dlh drinking a cup on one of the 24/7 episodes. whatever. shit tastes great, so yeah...

Coffee helps me get up.

If i can get up, I can go for a run.

Running is good for boxing.

Coffee is therefore good for boxing.

I'd like to know too. Not that I give a fuck, I'm not gonna quit drinking it

:rofl Every once in a while I give in to all the hype and think, you know I should really cut back on how much coffee I drink. And every time without fail I end up drinking almost twice as much.

No chance of me giving it up. But I am trying to cut it back to 2 a day.

Except you get addicted to it after years of doing this, and your brain won't function as well without it. That said, however, it's not a big deal since you can always just keep drinking coffee.

You just blew my mind.

I've always been kind of anti-caffeine, and therefore anti-coffee. I just seem to be really sensitive to caffeine, I like the initial buzz, but then I always feel goofy a few hours later. Plus, I can't get past the taste of coffee. Wasn't aware of all the antioxidant benefits, though. Anyone know if certain teas have all the same antioxidants as coffee?

Green Tea is loaded with antioxidants and the caffeine buzz isn't as harsh as coffee.

I'm a recent fan of the old coffee. Never touched the stuff until I turned 20, then realised the pleasure of it.

There have been a zillion studies done on the health benefits (or detriments) of coffee. The results have been mixed. I have a strong suspicion that the findings tend to vary depending on who commissions the study. You can be sure that one cup a day ain't gonna have much effect either good or bad.

Real men could give a fuck if their teeth are a little stained, especially if they can simply use some whitening tooth paste every day. :good

yea i dont like the idea of me having to rely on a drug to function. I drink only occasionally like once or twice a week.

Little_Mac

I wouldn't say I need it to function, I went like 2 weeks without coffee last summer when our coffee pot broke, it wasn't bad at all. I've been drinking coffee religiously for about 6 years now, long enough to get "addicted". Maybe I'm just resistant. The way I look at it its more of a cultural thing anyways, where I come from we drink coffee. A lot!

do some research fools

enjoy your caffeine induced impotence

Coffee isn't the only thing that contains caffeine. Soda is full of it as well. Everything in moderation. A few cups of coffee a day isn't going to kill anyone, or cause them to go bald, or make them impotent.

Fine. Here's an article from Harvard Medical School:

Coffee Health Risks: For the moderate drinker, coffee is safe says Harvard Women’s Health Watch

( Boston , MA ) Despite 20 years of reassuring research, many people still avoid caffeinated coffee because they worry about its health effects. However, current research reveals that in moderation—a few cups a day—coffee is a safe beverage that may even offer some health benefits. The September issue of Harvard Women's Health Watch weighs the pros and cons of this popular beverage and eases the concerns of moderate coffee drinkers.
The latest research has not only confirmed that moderate coffee consumption doesn't cause harm, it's also uncovered possible benefits. Studies show that the risk for type 2 diabetes is lower among regular coffee drinkers than among those who don't drink it. Also, coffee may reduce the risk of developing gallstones, discourage the development of colon cancer, improve cognitive function, reduce the risk of liver damage in people at high risk for liver disease, and reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease. Coffee has also been shown to improve endurance performance in long-duration physical activities.
For those who drink coffee to stay alert, new research suggests that you'll stay more alert, particularly if you are fighting sleep deprivation, if you spread your coffee consumption over the course of the day. For instance, if you usually drink 16 ounces in the morning, try consuming a 2-3 ounce serving every hour or so. Again, moderation is the key.
However, as the September issue notes, coffee is not completely innocent. Caffeine, coffee's main ingredient is a mild addictive stimulant. And coffee does have modest cardiovascular effects such as increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and occasional irregular heartbeat that should be considered. Studies have been largely inconclusive regarding coffee and its effect on women's health issues such as breast health, cancer, and osteoporosis. But, the negative effects of coffee tend to emerge in excessive drinking so it is best to avoid heavy consumption.

Any chance of you switching from coffee to tea? In Floyd Pattersons book, he stresses that you should drink a decent amount of tea every day, as it is full of anti oxidants, the caffeine gives you a boost, and it allows you to get your daily intake of water as well.
