Ding vs. Flores

I'm not a Wlad "nuthugger"...I just recognize him as the best heavyweight in boxing right now and think anyone who feels otherwise is in serious denial. I have nothing against Peter, I just feel he is a straightforward "clubber" as Shannon Briggs said and has little boxing skill. He is not an elite heavyweight even though he knocked Wlad down 3 times. He lost the fight.

Peter, to his credit outfought McCline for the rest of the rest but barely.

In contrast, Wlad dominated the shit outta Peter and schooled him throughout, with the exception of those knockdowns, 2 of which were bullhit anyway.

The first time Peter was KD by McCline he was more off balance than anything else at the end of the round. The other 2 KD's were a different story though, Peter was totally out of it. To his credit he fought on & skeaked out a close, disputed decision.

I had McCline by a point myself................

Back to the original thread, I've seen Ding a couple of times & he's a very entertaining styled fighter with good power. I've never seen the Flora guy so I can't comment.

I wouldnt go that far, Peter lost by 3 points on all 3 of the judges scorecards, which is hardly dominating performance by any means. I feel Peter beat Mccline by 2 points on my card, and I feel the first knockdown looked like Peter was off balance, but the other 2 the next round were from solid punches. As a huge Peter fan, it seemed to me he was comfortable in that fight, and I feel a big part of that was because he didnt prepare for Mccline, he trained for Maskaev.

I hope Ding takes it, but I have a feeling Flores will win a UD. He has fast feet and hands and knows how to move. I think this is gone be a cat & mouse fight where Ding will be chasing him but with no success, eventually falling too far behind on points and losing a Decision.

BJ Flores could very well be the next big thing at 200 lbs. He's had a solid amateur career and this could be his breathrough fight.

Can't cheer against Ding though, he is a top 10 guy facing a dangerous top 20 guy. Let's see what happens. :yep
