Down?

Basically, not one shot KO artists, but men who could accomplish similar results through systamatic beatings over the course of fights.

Bernard Hopkins comes to mind for current fighters.

Only person to ever stop Hoya, Johnson, and Trinidad, all extremely durable fighters. Especially impressive against Johnson because that's the only time he's been stopped in almost a dozen losses.

The Trinidad breakdown was systamatic and a modern day classic, and the Glen Johnson one is a bit more obscure but every bit as beautiful.

Jeff Fenech was frightening, Rocky Marciano a wonderful example, and in his own quieter way Monzon was extreme too.

Marvin Hagler.

Muhammad Ali at times was pretty damn impressive in that regard.
And so was Holmes.

Chavez, Frazier.

How did Fenech do it?

Body attack, was his power consistent through fights...?

Chavez, Frazier.

Ali seemed more like a mean bastard who liked punishing certain fighters.

Intense pressure, body work, work rate, scary stamina abd strength and general meaness.

Fenech was good at breaking fighters down and breaking his own body, worst hands of possibly any fighter ever. He smothered his opponents all fight though and threw high volumes of punches for the full distance, his power IMO was not that big, sort of like Juan Diaz these days. Accumulation. He did have Azumah Nelson ready to go.

I'll put Mike McCallum out here...He would break fighters down.

Also I nominate Julio Cesar Chavez. Rosario, Taylor and Camacho are all 3 fighters who were broken down big time. Brutal and systematic.

Miguel Cotto seems to fit that bill...
