So JCCJr. has called out DLH. No decision on DLH's next opponent yet (almost a month has passed since the 'almost done' Forbes fight and still no announcement), so Jr. is interested in fighting DLH at the Azteca - according to Boxingconfident@l.

"There seems to be one constant in out of the ring posturing of professional boxers: call out Oscar De La Hoya and hope you get the big payday. Oscar has made it clear that he will return to HBO Championship Boxing (non Pay Per View) on May 3. While many have reported Steve Forbes will be De La Hoya’s challenger and the event will be held at Carson, California’s Home Depot Center, that has not stopped other fighters from calling out De La Hoya’s name.
Add Julio Cesar Chavez to the growing list.
"He should give me an opportunity," said Chavez. "I want to fight Oscar at the Azteca Stadium. The only way he can fill it up is by fighting me."
De La Hoya has flirted with fighting at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium. The stadium hold a 115,500 capacity for soccer. In 1992, Chavez Junior’s father, Julio Cesar Chavez, filled the stadium up with 132,247 fans when he faced Greg Haugen."

Of course that could be 'old news' as there were some rumors at the end of the year about this bout but it's now an 'official callout' from Jr. who's fighting Jose Celaya on Saturday.



So... should Oscar fight Jr. instead? Or a rubber match with Sr.? How about Omar Chavez?

Unfortunatley the likely hood of that happenening is slim to none.....meaning Jr actually having a chance to beat DLH. Even with DLH past his prime Chavez Jr is far below where both DLH and his daddy were at in their primes. It would be a TKO mid round for DLH.

I really think Mayweather would. He is not really the type of fighters Mexicans will spend their money on. They want to see a war not a chess match.

there is now way Oscar knocks out JCC Jr., I know the guy still fighting 10 rds. for Christ's sake but he is too big (6-0) and too strong for De la Hoya, the one who could get KO is Oscar not the other way around. Oscar could outbox him cause JCC Jr.doesn't have any head movement, but KOing him, don't think so. Even though JCC Jr. opponents are still crap I don't see how Oscar would KO JCC Jr..
