Okay, so BWin has the odds for the April 19th showdown and Calzaghe is a HEAVY favorite.
Here're the odds:
JOE CALZAGHE: 1.35 or -285 or 7/20
D 23.00 or +2200 or 22/1
BERNARD HOPKINS 3.15 or +215 or 43/20
And just another question: are you ready to put your money on the fighter you're backing?
IMO the ref is worth 2 points either way in this fight and until we know who the ref is it would be unwise to bet on calzaghe at those low odds.
i see a very close fight anyway and get a ref who lets the fight be a spoiling /ugly fouling affair , which is very likely with the 2 styles then IMO hopkins wins it.

not worth putting anything on Calzaghe at those odds unless I find a couple of grand lying around.

I will be putting my money on Calzaghe. He will easily take this fight imo. Far too busy for old Hopkins,,,,I just don't see how JC could lose this one

Oh yeah! I like Joe in this fight but the odds are good for Hopkins. They definitely made it hard for us. I'll probably hesitate to the end and unless I'll be absolutely sure that Calzaghe will win this fight I'll probably put some money on BHop. As I put money on him in the Tarver fight. Speaking of Tarver, I put money on him in the 2nd Jones fight... :good

Calzaghe will win this, im 80% sure, probably not worth putting a bet on tho unless you have £500 you coulld do without if worst comes to worst.

Hopkins all the way. I'd love to see a knockout but realistically it will probably be a close UD & if I'm lucky might see Joe dropped Kabary Salem style where he won't be hurt but just caught off balance. Seeing the "old man" drop Joe would be sweet.

It all depends on whether the ref lets Calzaghe punch with an open glove. If the ref doesn't let him the odds on Hopkins look very good.

You can get 8/15 there from William Hill. Ive got £150 on Calzaghe to win. Which is about 3 times the amount I have ever bet. I hope to fuck Joe wins.

If you like the Hopkins odds then take them soon, in a fight like this the odds will close as the fight approaches.

Boxing's the worst sport to bet on if you can't afford it given there are only two men involved & either one can lose suddenly.:patsch

I can "afford" it. But as such I may be living in squalor for a month or so if Joe looses. I make more money than I lose. I am dead sure on this one though.........................................hope. :thumbsup

It all depends on whether you bet from the head or the heart. If you are using your head, at these odds it ain't worth the risk.

Hopkins has no chance, don't waste your money, ref, judges or not, as it's going to be such a shutout that none of that will matter. Hopkins may even get stopped.
With the 1/3 Calzaghe odds, just load up a few grand on him, that's what I did on the Kessler fight with 3/2 basically.
Then if anyone wants to put a little on a 'good chance', bet Calzaghe by stoppage, something like 100$, as the odds will be 5/1 or so.

Well... to put serious money on Calzaghe's stoppage win... now that's a risk! I don't see that coming. It COULD happen, but I wouldn't put money on it.

I completely agree. Lately I have been thinking that the chances of him getting the tko on BHop are better than I originally thought....or the towel getting thrown from his corner. JC is WAY too busy for the old Hopkins, and when he is throwing the shutout it may get stopped....

Amsterdam has it spot on
Plenty on Joe is safe as houses, then a speculative bet on the stoppage

Bullshit. The Euro hype machine buck STOPS here. Calzaghe has half the skill but makes up for it with his workrate. Bhop knows what to do in there against the slapster aka UGLY ASS STYLE aka calslappy(I cant throw a punch properly) Calzaghe.

Yep. I've got winnings left from when Mayweather owned Hatton, and I'm placing the lot on Hopkins in this fight, Bernard by UD :deal

And the first bet was such a good one....seriously I am pretty good at picking matchups, and you are throwing away your money by putting it on BHop. Just ask yourself: HOW does he win this one? Please enlighten us,,,,cause I don't see much of any way for him to win. If your answer is something retarded like "Calslappy can't do any damage to BHop" then you should know that you are throwing your money away. Busy fighters win rounds, many times while being less effective but still busy nontheless. Iron chin+high workrate = win for JC

true, especially with the bad decisions, it would be pretty hard to come out consistent. I used to have a nice vcash trend going back in the day, but got too greedy. Im glad I dont bet with real money.

I really wouldnt rule out a draw on this 1!
this is a pick n choose em fight!
Calzaghe has never fought in america!
Calzaghe has never fought above 168
Calzaghe has never fought bernard hopkins
Calzaghes last stoppage was against manfredo in wales!
and that was very premature stoppage!
Hopkins is 43
Hopkins in his last four fights he has won 2 lost 2
Hopkins last win was against a winky wright who never fought above 160!
hopkins last Ko victory was against Oscar de la hoya in 2004! he conserves alot of energy to win rounds not to take apponenets out!
Hopkins has never ever been disqaulified from a fight even though he is prown to dirty trick tactics!
So im rulling out a Ko or tko stoppage
n am rulling out a disqualification!
What will be the most defining factor!
im giving joe the edge jus becuase o the work rate n if you belive joe has no boxing skills just go and waste your money then! but if joes work rate will not follow him up to light heavy then i give hopkins the edge, i love watching both fighters so to me this is a dream match! n i cant wait! so Joe on Ud for me!
