View Full Version : Will Wlad now agree to rematch Corrie Sanders?

He waited for Brewster to be shot to pieces before fighting him again, Sanders looked crap in his last fight and is old and fat now, so maybe the pattern will repeat itself and Wlad will finally agree to fight another of the guys who banged him out.
Will the rematch happen?

Obviously he'd only rematch Sanders if Sanders had some recent wins over legit. competition.

Vitali beat the living shit out of Sanders. After their fight, Corrie was rushed to hospital with a broken nose, his ear had to be drained of blood he was tore up baaaaaaaaaaaad no way he steps back in the ring with a contender again.

Worthless rematch. Sanders is done, and Vitali has already beaten him. This won't do anything for Wlad's legacy.

No corrie is nothing now, retired virtually.

Unification and being undisputed heavyweightchampion is what Wlad is chasing now.

Just like Brewster had recent wins right

BTW, I dont think fighting Brewster was a bad move, it kept him busy in an era that most champions wouldnt of fought anyone, PERIOD. Just pointing out that you saying he would only fight him if he beat good fighters recently is laughable.

This is BS because Wlad wanted to rematch Brewster right after their first fight AND Brewster was the one who wanted to no part of it....Wlad didn't have to take that fight, he choose to! But the funny thing is that if he didn't take that fight, people like you would bash Klitschko for being scared to fight Brewster....the question is what can Wlad do to make you happy?

Will the rematch happen?Sanders is out indefinitely with a broken hand, which he broke in the first round of his last fight, which is why he looked so crappy. if you did some research instead of just hating, you would have known that.

True, he should fight a top 10 guy like Thompson, TOS or a rematch against Rahman.

Wladimir is a champion, he canīt fight over the hill guys like Sanders even if he wanted to.

Beating Sanders at this point wouldnīt prove anything anyway.

I read in an interview on Klitschko.com (the one about training for the 2nd Brewster fight) he had tried but apparently shit went down and he wasn't able to get it. I really don't see the use of fighting Sanders at this point and time as he's older and probably not the same after the Klitschko thrashing but I suppose Sanders would be better then a Ray Austin mandatory type.

In a year or two, Sanders will be even older, and if they are going to fight him, they need to get him in the ring, now, while he's still young.

But really, if they are to fight him, it should be now, back to back with the Brewster rematch, while the Ibrag Chag winner is being determined.

And besides rematching Sanders, there is noone else left out there, besides Virchis. Those are the only two theasible opponents for Wlad, from who's available now. In my opinion.

I respect Wlad for beating Peter, Brock, Byrd, and Brewster. He's fighting the best guys. I can't fault him for taking the second Brewster fight, although Brewster shouldn't have taken it.

But, he should now demand the winner of Ibragimov/Chagaev, then Maskaev. Unify and then take on whoever is at the top in a year or year and a half. Perhaps Povetkin.

Sadly for Wlad there really isn't a foil out there now to test him.

Maybe Vitali, but that ain't happening.

There is some truth there , I have heard he wants to avenge his other 2 losses by yrs end while he awaits a potential unification bout next spring.

Why didn't Wladimir consider this when it actually meant something?... meaning BEFORE Vitali whooped them both. Talk about a Sanders rematch not being worth much, Purrity will do the least for his legacy, but what the hell.. if Wladimir has time to kill, he can do whatever the hell he wants.

Corrie refused to give Vlad a rematch, but Vlad tried. Brewster refused to give Vlad a rematch, until Brewster lost the title to Lyakhovich. Don King know Brewster would lose to Vlad in a rematch.

You know, skull, you are right, but in a weird way, the Sanders rematch makes sense.

With the Sultan-Chag unification, and the Peter-Maskaev-Vitklit-Mccall soap opera going on, Wladdy is sort of odd man out, and its hard to think of another contender who generates much interest.

You are right that Sanders has done nothing to deserve it, but the revenge angle can keep Wladdy making money, adding to the record, erasing defeats and beating big puncers while he waits for the smoke to clear.

He never waited for Brewster to be shot man, seriously come on.

Wladimir tried to get a rematch done with Brewster as soon as the first fight was over but Brewster refused and no one blamed Brewster because he wanted Wladimir to EARN a rematch after all the excuses from his team after the first fight, they basically gave Brewster 0 credit so Brewster wasn't going to give him a free title shot either. Wladimir wanted this rematch for a long time now and finally he got it, Brewster was in good shape and his only chance was to wait for Wladimir to get tired like in the first fight(or he would've gotten KO'd there too) and when he did Brewster jumped all over him and won. Wladimir was clearly in way better shape this time, he never looked like he was going to get tired anytime soon and his jabs/straight rights were just getting stronger and stronger. Wladimir wins and deserves full credit for it, after all everyone wanted him to avenge a loss and he went for it. It's not his problem Ross Purrity is too old and so is Corrie Sanders, so rematching either one of those is pretty much useless at this point.

If you watched fight, you will see that Brewster came out fast and aggressive. Wlad hit him hard a few times, and Brewster thought, oh boy, I better ease up a bit or he’s going to knock me out. It is funny how the people picking Brewster are now saying he was shot. Prior to the fight, all I read was Brewster was in shape and looked good in open sparring sessions.

Wlad tried to get a re-match with Sanders before. Perhaps it will come.

Yeah, a 41 yr old Ross Puritty, who's lost his last 3 fights to David Cadieux, Eddie Chambers, Alexander Dimitrenko.

The time is right to avenge that loss, Wlad. Puritty went 11 rounds with Vitali, also. So he must have had something in his day.

Funny is it not,how before the fight brewster was gonna KO wlad early and in a brutal fashion to,but once he gave up,hes suddenly shot to pieces and finished, what a load of shit,he was taking apart, and would have got badly KOed if allowed to go on,funny how all these dumb arses posting he was shot and easy meat, never gave us these wise words before the fight,in fact the majority thought wlad would get beat, including the guy on the main page article,i felt brewster had a decent chance, but all props to wlad, great fighter now,and to the original poster,go and do what your name says.
