Well, only out of tough love.
I will never forget the gritty perfomances, but don't want him to take any more punishment.
The heavywight division is the best its been since Lennox hanged them up.

I am a Lamon fan and feared that he may be done...since I witnessed him quit, that fear has been confirmed. He was at one time the top HW Champ, and gave us some good fights. His heart was great in his time, his chin is still great.
He should retire and be with his family. His family is afterall why he quit on the stool in his title match. He should enjoy them now, he made his choice.

He lost to Wlad, who just happens to be the best right now...I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Lamon beat a few of the other top 5s'...at 34, I still think he can make it back:bbb
Don't you see...??? A fighter who is all heart quit on the stool without being KD'd, or cut, or nose broken, or eye glued shut...
...he gave up to a superior fighter who wasn't killing him. He showed he still has the chin, but he's done. Beating some other guys proves nothing. If he can't beat KLIT, he's not the best. It's time for him to be with his family.

I agree.
Lamon's greatest attribute was his relentless style and the heart that allowed him to keep plugging along even though he was getting pummeled. I don't think he CAN be a good boxer-puncher like he was trying to be with McGirt. If he's not willing to take the punishment any more, then he might as well retire.

i agree if someone can't beat the best they should retire.... the problem with brewster is something he can't fix, its the end of the road for him which is sad for boxing because he is one of the most exciting heavyweights out there.
