If he had a different trainer? (and which trainer?)

Howard Davis with Eddie Futch would have got there at some stage IMO. Maybe he would have beaten Watt.

Well, in my opinion, it's more important to have the right manager than trainer. So Charley Burley + a manager who gives a f*** = world WW and MW champ.

But as far as training goes you got to look to the troubled guys + a mentor.

So Ike Ibeabuchi + Kevin Rooney = World champ, for example.

I remember having a prolonged daydream in the post office about what would have happened if Cus D'Amato had discovered Liston instead of Patterson.

He came to the title in 1961 and Frazier took it from him, I think.

I think if Super Greg Page also had the right trainer, he may have not gone through half the crap that he did.

If Audley Harrison was trained by Jesus Christ himself then he may have become a champion.

Page would have needed a top disciplinarian and motivator, but would he have stayed with such a trainer?

Possibly Mitch Green and Tony Tucker, maybe Gerry Cooney.
