i have watched the earl fight several times. im pretty sure earl DID have him staggered at one point.....katsidies seems to get hit a lot and i really hope his chin holds up against future oppisition in the lightweight division. it could be his only downfall as he seems pretty skilled and really seem to pack a punch from both hands. oh and does anyone know anything about his opponent amonsot?? havent really heard of him to be honest.

I was more concerned about how he tried to get up straight away as he nearly threw away the fight by doing so as his legs nearly got tangled up, and if he fell again, the ref would have called the fight off.

yes that is a worrying trait, you would think after years of fighting taking all the time you can after taking a shot like that would be imbedded in your brain, although the head trauma.......makes ppl forget, zab done the same thing with kostya (dont think it would of changed the result though):good

Man, he copped a sweet shot and recovered to win the fight... i think it's a plus more than a detraction. I also think these people saying Earl was going to come back and win the fight are talking out of their arses. Anything can happen i know, but Earl was MORE gassed than Kat and it was a total war... neither guy is superman...

His reaction to getting up was much in the light of Judah and yeah, he coulda suffered for it... surely he's learnt from that though now...

You've also gotta consider that Kat probably thought he had it in the bag and that Earl was on the way out too... getting a little sloppy is a mistake but there aren't many boxers who wouldn't fall into the trap... especially sluggers like Kat.

Katsidis has a lot to work on, his defence is very lacking. The only think I know about amonsot is that he's another Filipino.

Katsidis chin aint that bad at all IMO.
Its a similar situation to Cotto, where i feel an improved defense will solve the problem.

Its a similar situation to Cotto, where i feel an improved defense will solve the problem.

Obviously Rocky can be hurt, which means he can be knocked out, like most fighters. He knows that now and hopefully will make the necessary adjustments.

But I still like seeing him fight that way, its so much more fun to watch.

I think the KD wasnt to bad, Ive seen cracked with big shots and your legs and feet go all tingly and though the pain is minimal, its hard to control your movement.

sounds like he needs to fight just a little smarter and use a bit more patients. the way he fights he will open his opponents up to his hard shots, patients is what he needs IMO

Amonsot has fought many more professional rounds and is used to traveling to different countries to fight. Katsidis has fought nobodies mostly in Australia and will find the pressure in Vegas too great. The victory against Earl was just a lucky night, he wont have two of those.

What i meant was that it was a once in a lifetime performance for Katsidis. he wont be able to replicate that again.
