I've just read that 'the peoples champion' Carl Froch has landed a deal with showtime. What do people think this will mean for his career?
Is it a deal. Or have they just signed they just signed his fight with Inkin?
I thought Showtime wernt going to sign fighters anymore, I thought they were going by a fight by fight basis...?

The King of Hearts.:D
lol the last thing we need is for froch to have a wider audience. his head won't fit through the ropes if it swells any more.
but seriously this could be good news in that he may have to fight somoene world class if he inherits the belt by beating inkin and joe vacating.

Very good news for his career, so long as he gets past Inkin.
An impressive display there and he could have some real big profile fights in his future. A loss, though, would kill this dead in the water.

ITV 1 and Showtime , that's as good exposure as Froch could really get..........for his sake he better perform .

are there any Froch fans on the Brit forum. Not people that like watching him, but actual F.A.N.S!
I will be a fan if he dispatched Inkin impressively and fights Kessler within 2 fights of that.:good

He's a Brit and I get behind him but no, I'm not what you'd call a 'fan'.

I'm probably the same, I do think he's a mouthy git but I do back him and want him to win. He gets a lot of flak and I think much of it is unfair, but then he does bring it down on himself.

I am a fan of Froch as a fighter, but his gob doesn't do him any favours.
Then again, thats Hennessy Sports fighters for you!
I'm not sure about his nickname 'the Cobra' - I was thinking more 'rattlesnake' for the left hand which seems to shake constantly when in a defensive position.

Over time people will warm to him when they realise that the big mouth comments are always accompanied by a wry smile. Add to this the fact that he is a real talent and exciting to watch.

I don't think anyone who has seen Froch can dispute his ability.
I certainly don't.

The reason I'm a fan of Froch is due to the fact that after something like his fifith pro fight, he made a statement along the lines of 'he was a game fella, but unfortuneately tonight he came up against the best in the world'. In all honesty I may have considered some fighters arrogant for saying that, but for some reason I found Froch ammusing and always took interest in when he was fighting.

The problem with the likes of Froch and Witter is they like to talk about how good they are, but aren't proactive enough in proving it. Instead of using the 'X ,Y & Z are avoiding me' routine, they would be better off getting a move on themselves. Froch is thirty years old, I hope he beats Inkin then gets a shot at the winner of Bute-Joppy.

Aye, people take him too seriously, his brash talk borders on the hilarious
He's a good lad really, and a good fighter
