Not until he unifies or give Peter a rematch.
he is still a Belt holder, that's it for now.
he has the potential, credential to be considered THE man, but, not yet.

Why would he have to give Peter a rematch? He beat Peter like a cheap drum. Take away the two bogus KD's and the UD wasn't even close. Peter isn't the savior of boxing. He is far too limited.

First, lets just finally wait and see the outcome of Peter vs. Maskaev. If Peter is out of shape, I would give Maskaev a good shot to outboxing him.

Exactly, he already beat Peter and unless Peter is sportin' a new green belt, he's not deserving.

Not yet? Is there some other heavyweight that we don't know about?:huh
When i read these threads i cant help but to think. .
"like, Being the top Heavyweight right now is like being the top couch potato in the world"
Who gives a shit? 1 man is considered the best out of a pool of level C & D fighters? Seriously, whats the significance of that?
I dont see how people can be a fan of anything the Heavyweight division offers. There is so much talent in all the other weight classes it almost seems to be a waste of time to even pay attention to what Klitchko is doing.
Its bad when people are actually anticipating a rematch against Cory Sanders. Geez, this guy is like 1 year away from a bed pan and a nursing home and the HW division is so dry people actually want to see this guy fight!!!

you must have only watched 2 round of the fight. musta missed the other 10 rounds of schooling. as a matter of fact, i think he was kicking his ass the rounds he got knocked down as well. and 2 of them shouldnt have been ruled KD's either!!
and before you start the "well sam is better now", beating an old fat james toney doesnt make you improved, might even mean yer a little worse.
I agree that he is the top heavyweight right now, the problem is nobody gives a shit...and i dont blame them!
The Klitschko Brewster fight which was essentially for the Heavyweight championship of the World got 1 inch of coverage in the national newspapers over here and wasnt shown on TV, nobody gives a shit about any Klitschko or the division he is supposedly dominating.
Im praying for a big bad mutha fucka to come out of the olympics because the whole division is screwed right now.:verysad

Maskaev will be alot tougher fight for Peter than most seem to think, or want to admit.
and Wlad is the man, now, most certainly.

Wlad won very clearly against Peter. For me, that match that matters is Wlad against Chagaev/Ibragimov winner.

The Chag Ibrag winner is the best possible opponent, but you can't ignore the fact that Peter is probably the next biggest threat, with his iron chin, and ability to take a beating and keep coming.
He's lacking at boxing, but he's tough as hell, and is like a big, thick, tree trunk that you can't seem to chop down, no matter how hard you pound on him.
And that kind of a tough guy is a threat, I would say, especially when he's got good, even if overrated, KO power to boot, that can turn the fight on a moment's notice.
Wlad would probably beat Peter even more decisively this time, but, he is probably the second bigges threat out of a dwindlling pool of opponents. We are running out of fighters for Wlad to fight, and have to start accepting less and less competitive opponents, cause that's all there is!.

No doubt. Wald is definitely the top HW Champion right now...although he's been the top HW champion for the last year or so.

I like how people say that he needs to beat Peter again.
First, they all said that he would never fight Peter. Then he fights him, pounds him for 10 out of 12 rounds in their fight... and afterwards they say that Peter was overrated, and wasn't that good. Now, a couple years later they say that in order to be a real Champion he needs to beat Peter again.:rofl

That is just getting retarded this crap with Samuel Peter. People think that by outboxing James Toney he has improved to the point where he can challange Klitschko again. Mark my words when Wladimir wins another dominant UD over Peter, those same posters will be complaining that Wladimir fought limited Peter again and avoids........Shanon Briggs (I dont know who else is there to be avoided)
