How important are supplements in youre diet?
Ive never really taken them seriosuly just the odd vitamin or omega 3 tablet but i see people on here take it real serious.
Should i consider taking them daily?

If you eat right than you shouldn't need supplements.

Supplements are optional, I myself take two omega-3 pills for my heart and studies show they help with inflamation caused by lifting or heavy pounding of the body like boxing. I have tried at least half of the GNC products out there today and learned only very few have any effect at all on my lifting or sporting event. The 3 best supplements I ever took were Meta-cell, which they took off the market in 05 for undisclosed reasons, it helped to me to gain 7 pounds of fat/muscle in one month, and 10 pounds in two. Another is a newer product thats very expensive ANATOR, it's made by muscle-tech, and runs about 80 bucs for a month supply, it really helped to put muscle on pretty fast. The last is Nitro-tech, it also helped to me to gain muscle weight.
All in all, your mind is the biggest factor in how much you want do physically with your body, most supplements promise alot and deliver very little. The only reason I got most of the supplements I did, was to get myself motivated into lifting and break new barriers. Supplements are there to help assist you, but it's hard out there to find the supplement thats right and works for you.

if you box though do to the making weight you might end up deficient in vital nutrients
Multivitamin is bare minimum imo. You can eat right and still come up short due to any number of things, but it really depends on you as an individual.
Some people have a hard time absorbing certain forms of nutrients, and so other versions of the same nutrient are more absorbable, or bio available.
There is also the big deal about the condition of the soil from which your crops come.. Likely they arent vitamin and mineral packed like they were during the days of our grandparents.
Other aspects have to do with nutrients not working well with one another, like zinc and calcium.. You ingest calcium with your zinc, you likely wont absorb the zinc.. Or, if you drink loads of water, sometimes you are just flushing your system of certain nutrients, depending on when you take them.. Timing of when you take nutrients is another secret.

I am in agreement with Scurla here, but must you go on about the ancients in every post?
You sound like Bert Sugar.
You know, back in the day, people didn't have computers.
Perhaps you should log off for good.

bloody hell thats a lot of protein
seing any difference
People don't believe in supplements, then.. Why don't you go out and eat cheeseburgers and pizza all the fucking time? Just because you don't believe in eating healthy, supplementing your diet with healthy shit, doesn't mean supplementing your diet wont give you an edge.
Theres shit out there like the above, cyto sport gainer that has twice as much protein than a person can even absorb.. But, if you were to take half of that shake in two hour intervals, it would be very good.
Taking things like fish oils, supplementing yourself with good quality carbs, proteins, amino acids, vitamins and minerals is only helpful, so long as you don't over do it.

I speak for myself when i say im not an advocate of supplements. But the reason why i take cod liver oil and Glucomsamine is precisely because i dont get enough of it in my diet and simply want more for rest and recuperation. Its diffrent strokes for diffrent folks. What you dont get in your diet you supplement. It really depends on a persons knowledge and what there trying to achieve in regards to supplements. To be honest most on this forum know very little about diet or workout regimes. My post was just my 2 pennys worth.:thumbsup

I am used to $160 a week for supps on my hardcore training periods but i have since cut back until may.
Overall, if you do the research and know what your goals are, you will see results when proper nutrition, a proper and disiplined training program and plenty of sleep and rest are followed.:good

I'm not that serious about what I do so I don't bother with supplements. I eat everything I need, plus a load of shitty stuff like chocolate and crisps.
