Drink 5litres of ice cold water a day, & just make sure you eat smaller meals 5/6 times during that day. Youll get there after a while. DO NOT SKIP MEALS

thanx , what is the reason behind the ice cold water, is there any exercise secrets i could use ?

Smith

Water has a zero calorie content, you can actually use simple physics to burn calories
just by drinking it! Everything in your body is heated or
cooled to core body temperature, and every action performed by
your body requires energy to do so.

Your bodies unit of energy is calories, so simply by drinking
your water ice cold will burn extra calories using your
bodies own heating mechanism to raise the temperature!
Studies have shown that out of the hundreds of people studied over the years, the people who drank the most ice cold water lost the most fat! You can burn up to 2000 cals a wekk just from water.
If you're not drinking at least (yep, at the very least!) 4 litres of water a day, you're really not using it to it's fullest potential!
Look at water as one of your best allies in your pursuit for a
better physique. It's free, it's convenient, it's easy to
prepare... how hard is it to put a glass under a tap and throw
in some ice?!

If youre a member of a boxing gym you should have trainers there that will direct you, but make sure you hit the bags and eventually spar for boxing specific. I myself do a lot of weights in my training, but some warn against this(those who dont do waits will probably give you a bit of advice later) Just make sure your diet is clean and calorie's are in deficit. On your rest days just have a little jog, say 20 minutes. You'll get there. Someone will come along soon to give you more info, i myself have to shoot out.....:good .:hi:

Train more, eat less and more balanced ... and set yourself realistic goals. You don't lose that sort of weight overnight. It takes planning and discipline.

No its not pal, more than 5 litres is, but 5 litres(this can include other fluids) is beneficial.

Well you think that re'le'n't'l'ess, i'll still keep doing it, it does me no harm, as thousands of others. I can get links that counter what your link is saying so ... It is imperative to get cold water, but of course you get water through fruit et al as well.

Thats bullshit - running on a empty stomach has been proven to lose about an extra 300 calories a year or .03%. i dont know the exact figure but it makes running on an empty stomach irrelevant. Besides that id rather have some fuel & workout harder.

Water helps, but fibre is what makes you shit.

2 litres of water a day is enough. I'm pretty sure 5 litres is harmful to your health. In reality there's no point even measuring how much you drink. Know your body, it's easy to know when your thirsty and not.

Look Slappy, we all know what cutting weight is and most of us here have probably had to do it at least once so you can stop with the dumbasses schitck.
The original post had nothing to do with cutting weight quickly for a fight, in fact he stated specifically that he was not in a hurry and wanted to actually lose fat (permantly) and you gave the worst advice possible. Not only is it unhealthy, for his goal......IT DOESN'T WORK! So knock it off already.
We all know how to sweat off a pound or two, we get it, really we do. But that's not the topic so zip it already!

sjfou
07-13-2007, 02:15 AM
honestly, i couldnt be fucked reading all this, but i will boxers cannot cut weight like wrestlers due to the simple fact the brain is about 70% water. Any dehydration causes it to swell, therefore has less impact absorbtion.

It takes up to 40hrs to fully rehydrate.

Also - you want good diet advice? see a professional nutritionist - there is ALOT of good info. on the net but NONE is specific to YOU - ive never been leaner, stronger, lighter & fitter than when i had a program written for me. They really arent that expensive, especially for the piece of mind, but the first person you see may not be the best, so try find one with experience in the field you compete in - in this case boxing. Just trust & believe in what they say, follow it as close as possible for at least 6 weeks.

Running in the morning on an empty stomach won't burn muscle. After around 2 hours of running it will. And i doubt many people here run that far.

As for cutting weight:

1. 5 days out from weigh in drink 2-3 gallons of water a day and use more salt on your food than normal. 2 days out begin cutting back on your water and salt. Use no salt and drink 1 gallon of water a day. the day of the weigh in drink no water till after. This will trick your body nto dropping more water weight.

2. On the day you begin excess water intake (5 days out) begin to stimulate water loss by using a mild diuretic like dandelion root. this will make your kidneys excrete more water.

3. 5 days out also seriously decrease your intake of carbohydrates. A gram of carbohydrate holds about 3 times its weight in water. Increase your Protein and Fat intake.

4. 5 days out and up to weigh in eat more fiber. You can bu fiber supplements. You can lose 1-2 pounds from this alone.

After the weigh in:

1. DO NOT FUCKING PIG OUT WITH ONE BIG MEAL.

2. Eat small portions of food every 1-2 hours up to the competiion. Drink gatorade as well. Eat your last meal 2 hours before your comp.

That is all

I know this is kind of an old thread but you can never bring up this kind of stuff too much in my opinion.
I just wanted to mention my own experience about an article that relentless posted, specifically talking about water intake.
I used to drink a boat load of water because my kidney doctor was always saying how much I needed alot of water etc... Everybody was telling me how much I need to drink. They would say, keep drinking, keep drinking. So I did.
I can't remember exactly how long after, but I started to have severe nausea, and malaise quite often throughout the week, somtimes lasting up to 3 or 4 hours or so each time. I literally thought I was going insane as well. Then it would gradually leave. It was consistant for a little over a year. I dreaded life for this alone. It was one of the worst feelings I have ever felt. I would feel it hit and would literally grovel on the carpet in utter agony. I went to my kidney doctor, and general doctor about the issue and they had no f'ing clue, and it didn't really seem that they gave a damn either. My general Doctor told me to drink more water, (Which was the actual f'ing problem!)
I switched my general doctor to a new one and told him what I was going through. He did some bloodwork, and I ended up having Hyponatremia. I quit drinking so much water and I haven't had one of those horrible episodes since. It was so simple to cure. Hyponatremia is nothing nice. The definition of it on wikipedia is pretty accurate.

I took this out of wikipedia and it is dead on. "As the hyponatremia worsens, confusion, diminished reflexes, convulsions, stupor or coma may occur"

Don't drink too much water.
