Thank you for this statement. Would you however like to voice any personal opinions on it? Did you watch it? Was it good? Do you think Ricky gets boring when he keeps telling his Tyson joke?

I like Hatton, he's such a down to earth good honest bloke who you can imagine down your local boozer. He's such a funny bloke and has some good jokes.
Full English breakfast!! Top bloke!

if your uncle started telling those jokes at Christmas you'd walk out the room and help your mum wash up.

Sorry John, I was being a little sarcastic. I think O Foquina's next post in this thread is more in line with what I think.
Wait for it.....

PrideOfWales only watched a small part of the link before PrideOfWales clicked onto the second part. However, PrideOfWales (who hates people referring to themselves in the third pperson) did not detect any of this.

I did indeed watch it hence the reason I posted it. Thats pretty self explanatory I would have thought.
Yes it was reasonably good, some bits were entertaining, as usual I found him to be down to earth and I must say it was quite funny.
I was the opposite though, it was the midget joke that annoyed me as I've heard it that often from Ricky. The Tyson one however was new to me as to be honest I'm hardly a huge Hatton fan and have not heard a great deal of interviews with him.

Now I watched this a couple of days ago, & I had a wee discussion with my pal, who had also seen it.
I said that I thought Al Murray looked a bit irritated when Ricky was cracking jokes, & my pal said he had noticed that too.
Maybe it was our imagination, but have a watch again closely & you might see what Im talking about. I think Murray thought Hatton was trying to steal his thunder, & thats why he looked a little irked for fleeting moments. Its nothing blatantly obvious, but as I say watch Murrays reactions when Hatton is telling jokes & you will see what I mean.

aaah, so it wasnt my imagination then! Its always funny seeing two guys face off who like to be the centre of attention, especially when its two guys who like to think they are comedians like Murray & Hatton.
Last one with two proper comedians though I remember was Billy Connolly & Peter Kay on Parkinson. Billy is old now, & has seen better days, but in his prime he was untouchable. But on Parkinson recently, peter kay came on & was funny as hell & stole the show, & you could see old Billy was raging:lol: Whilst the audience laughed at Kay, the only guy not laughing was Billy.
I love looking out for clashes of egos!

Some people might not like to believe it true and allot of his jokes are pretty crap to say the least, but Hatton at times is genuinely a humorous guy.

I agree 100% Dunky. Connolly was forcing a smile and felt uncomfortable that Kay had stolen 'his' show.

This is what I thought when I watched it. You can see that Hatton told jokes over Murray's pre-prepared material a few times which meant Murray couldn't use it. Hatton's genuinely quite quick witted even though a few of his "stock" jokes have been used a few times. Have to admit that I laughed a lot at the "love to see her box" one even though it was a bit obvious.

How many boxers don't refer to themselves in the third person?

I agree 100% Dunky. Connolly was forcing a smile and felt uncomfortable that Kay had stolen 'his' show.It depends on how you look at it, to me all of the guests seemed a little uncomfortable except Beckham. I thought Peter Kay was just dicking around which to me wasn't funny, in fact I found it rather cringe-worthy much like watching Robin Williams or Jim Carey interviewed. If I was on that show I would feel obliged to smile or laugh, but it wouldn't be genuine.
As for Hatton he does interview relatively well for a boxer, but I don't think he's witty, he knows pretty much which direction the interview is heading before he gets there and has relevant jokes. During the build up to his fight with Mayweather, his comment about not missing his children because he'd been hanging out with another six year old was funny. However, the remark that followed shortly after was embarassing and ridiculous, 'oi, Floyd stop touching my dick, you poof!'. You'd never guess he was mates with Bernard Manning, would you?
