Was looking over Sonny Liston's record on Boxrec and it turns out that he fought 3 times in a row in Detroit, including receiving his first loss there.
Being from Michigan, I love the MI boxing history, and googled the location of the place where all 3 fights happened: The Motor City Arena.
I found NOTHING on it. Can anyone tell me where it was?

Maybe Joe Louis arena.
It was built years after Liston's death.
Maybe it was the Olympia.

Never heard of it. It was probably the old Olympia.

I thought about that too.
Could be the case.

Olympia Stadium, better known as the Detroit Olympia andnicknamed ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) "The Old Red Barn", stood at 5920 Grand River Avenue ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) in Detroit, Michigan ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) from1927 ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) until 1986 ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). It seated close to 15,000.
Olympia was also a major venue for boxing ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) through the International Boxing Club ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), featuring such prominent fights as Jake LaMotta ([Only registered and activated users can see links])'s defeat of Sugar Ray Robinson ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), and professional wrestling ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), as well as the Harlem Globetrotters ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) and the Ice Capades ([Only registered and activated users can see links]).
The International Boxing Club was mob controlled as we all know.

Is this the same as the Motor City Arena?
