its like how you get going in a fight like you can get a good rythm going if your getting inside getting ur shots off and getting out whereas you'd lose your rythm if your timings off or your getting beat to the punch

Long rhythm is for outside boxers it's bouncing back and forth without moving your feet. Short rhythm is inside boxers moving side to side without moving the feet. For example watch Ali vs Frazier, Leonard vs Duran, Robinson vs Lamotta.

The purpose of rhythm is to keep your head moving and keep your opponent from getting in an easy potshot. Boxers never remain completely still.

you should always be moving your head when in range

I thought rhythm would be the description of the tempo you are fighting and the patterns of movement you are doing. My trainershave said dont get in a set rhythm for too long as you will be set up for punches as your movement become anticiapted by your opponent due to you doing the same thing.

Only get in a rhythm when your not moving your feet. This makes it hard for your opponent to lock on. Don't get in a rhythm when your moving or punching only when standing stationary.

It's up to you how fast you move your head. The best thing to do is to keep changing your tempo, that way it becomes harder for your opponent to time you.

ray robinson used to say that he could "out rhythm any fighter." according to him...he used to do everything to a rhythm. he would run to a rhythm, skip rope to a rhythm, fight to a rhythm..etc..etc...so when ur in the ring...u should try to disrupt ur opponents rhythm and make him fight to ur rhythm.

That's why the pressure fighter can have loads of success. Their rhythm is so up tempo that you better make them fight to your rhythm because most likely you cant fight to theirs.

I was always taught "rhythm" was something to avoid. Anything that's predictable will get you punched, and I spend a time trying to not fall in a rhythm at all.

In a perfect world, I would have no rhythm, and be totally unpredictable.

i was watching a fighter that was completely unpredictable the other day
he'd be on the back foot then jump throwing wild punches dead scrappy then start using his head on the inside in both ways
he had about 9 different styles
