Not surprising... Calzaghe better keep a level head. He's acting like he's already won.

Those people in Vegas are a bunch of turncoats. That's ok. They'll regret their disloyalty just like the Americans who booed Floyd when he fought Hatton regretted their disloyalty.

Let's not go crazy now.....Joe should beat the old man but not to the point where hop gets KO'd......Joe will UD Hop but I think Hop will have his spots. Hop's counter punching will have to really be on point to catch Joe, but I think he will. I just don't think Hop will be busy enough to really take advantage of when the momentum shifts in his favor.

Is that how Vegas is? I don't know much about the place except a close friend of mine went there and loved it.

I'm going to pretend that "p" was placed there by mistake.

:good

It clearly was placed there by mistake being as there is no month called "Spetember" and there is one called "September". Good catch though, I fixed it.:good

I've been following JC right from his amateur days in the pages of Boxing News here in the UK but I'm surprised that the vast majority see the outcome of this fight as a foregone conclusion.

Joe should definitely win this, but even at this advanced stage of Hopkin's career I don't see it as a walkover. I feel that Bernard will have his moments en route to a comfortable but not massively wide Calzaghe points win.

Is Boxing News still around? I haven't seen it for about 200 years.

Reminds me when MSG was booing Nard, even after he had won the fight... and Nard kept doing the X signature in their face.

Bernard will win this one

This is why i never buy into the "Yeah, the fight is in America so Hopkins has a huge advantage." It really doesn't apply for America. Yeah, maybe in other countries but this is THE most diverse country in the world. There are all sorts of races here. Honestly, when you think of this fight as Americans, do you think it's America versus England or just Hopkins versus Calzaghe?

Hopkins don't give a damn about booos anyway...

Bernard once said: "I don't care about booos, I'm from Philly, where I come from I've seen people booo Santa Claus"

I'm not being funny but I know from that statement that you have rarely, if at all, left America.

It's Hopkins vs. Calzaghe, both getting highly paid for doing something they both want to do and boosting up their ego's at the same time.

However, it's fun.

It should never be about country vs. country, though I see Hops is trying to make it that way.

Do some research

U.S Ethnic Groups

white 81.7%, black 12.9%, Asian 4.2%, Amerindian and Alaska native 1%, native Hawaiian and other Pacific islander 0.2% (2003 est.)
note: a separate listing for Hispanic is not included because the US Census Bureau considers Hispanic to mean a person of Latin American descent (including persons of Cuban, Mexican, or Puerto Rican origin) living in the US who may be of any race or ethnic group (white, black, Asian, etc.)

Canadian Ethnic groups

British Isles origin 28%, French origin 23%, other European 15%, Amerindian 2%, other, mostly Asian, African, Arab 6%, mixed background 26%

So in the U.S , 82% of the people are considered White(Latinos are a part of this number, and different European, and Middle Eastern backgrounds are not differentiated) 18% are considered non white, including 13% being considered black

In Canada only 8% are clearly defined as being non white, and 51% are comprised of British and French citizens. Asian, Black, and Arab are clearly differentiated(Arabs aren't differentiated in the U.S), and only make up 6% of the population.

So again, how do you figure Canada is more diverse than the U.S?

Well, because skin color isn't the only index of ethnic identity... Language, for example, has something to do with it too. Switzerland, Mauritius, Belgium, and a lot of the Caribbean countries would be more diverse than the US.
