It seems like Cotto handled getting buzzed a few times fairly well. I expected Zab to put him down since he is much quicker than Torres was. Do you think Floyd could fight at this pace and put him down and out? Doesn't seem like too good of a idea to let Miguel back in the fight :smoke

I'm a big Cotto fan but yes Mayweather can. Mayweather is too good for Cotto. Plus Cotto is really a one handed fighter and the majority of his offense comes from his left hand and Mayweather will neutralize that like he did against Delahoya.

Wounded how ??? Like with a crossbow or a horrible machete accident ??? Cause I know you aren't suggesting that Floyd could really hurt Cotto !!!

The question isn't whether Floyd can outbox Cotto for 12 rounds. It's whether he can finish off Cotto if he hurts him.. I'd say no.. Not only because of Floyd's lack of power, but Cotto is a damn warrior. How many times have we seen him hurt and he comes back and wins the fight? If Cotto can survive the sledgehammers that Ricardo Torres threw at him, he can survive Floyd's pillow-punches.. PBF is not a great finisher by any means.. he does just enough to win..

I don't think PBF would wound him in the first place, if he does then yes he will get the finish...but I don't see that happening.

Floyd has very little power. Even if he did have power, he fights way to defensively to ever sit down on his punches and hurt someone. Usually too busy planning which way he is going to run after he throws a job.

I actualy think that if Floyd managed to hurt Cotto, it would be a bad thing for him. This is the one position in which Floyd would HAVE to start throwing punches with authority, and we have seen Cotto unleash hell while stunned before.

Cotto has shows some excellent recoup skills. Either way, it's moot, as Floyd would fight SAFE as usual and not risk anything.

I thought maywather hurt DLH a few times i dont see why he cant hurt cotto.

cotto is not a one handed fighter he does well with both hands and is actually very un orthodox.

miguel cotto is an olympic boxer, remember that. there is a reason why he hasnt been outboxed yet in his career. he is not all power but he is smart and adapts. he also uses feints very very well. another thing, his defense is getting a bit better and hes learning how to move his head a little more when hurt thus not going down against zab.

I say no.
Cotto ate bombs from torres while he was in lala land and still managed to beat the guy.

Mayweather will never fight him so it's a pointless question.

Bob Arum is 100% sure Floyd will never fight Cotto the main reason is not money is because he will be forced to fight 36 minutes, Cotto is a predator in the ring very underrated as a boxer but the truth is he never throws a bad punch, great crowd pleaser I pay to see him anytime.

actually cotto gets hurt pretty easy..liike by torres idiot...n if zab could hurt cotto im sure floyd could....floyd is a much better boxer than zab is n floyd would probably finish off cotto late...to u fools who are now on the cotto baNDWagon...think twice cuz he aint good enough to beat floyd...or mosley for that matter....hes still #3 in my book but floyd and shane are in a league of there own!!!

I think it would go Floyd UD, Floyd wouldn't get him in trouble and finish him. The only way Floyd could stop him would be by accumulation and that would NOT happen to Cotto. He can take everything Floyd's got and then some, but he would probably be outboxed. I think he has the best chance of anyone to beat Floyd with his pressure style and crowd (and judge) pleasing punches. If the ring is small enough he might be able to chase Floyd down, but we all know that Floyd would dictate the ring size.

Corely, Judah, Torres, all are no Floyd!!!

Yes Mayweather can finish him, much like SRL used to: with a 12-14 punch flurry that forces the ref to jump in.

Getting hit with too many clean straight right hands will break down even the most granite of chins.

I think Mayweather could possibly stop Cotto. He likes to fight come forward stalker type fighters. They play perfectly to his style. He destroyed Corrales and Gatti.

No, he threw everything at Gatti and couldn't put him down. He couldn't even stop Judah, how's he gonna knock out Cotto?

He got a No Mas out of Gatti. That's total destruction. The reason he couldn't stop Judah is simply a matter of style. Judah isn't a come forward slow stalker. Mayweather has never even come close to losing to that type of fighter. If Cotto was more of a swarmer, he'd fare better. He's not. EVERYONE has a No Mas in them. I don't care how much of a warrior they are.

I like Cotto a lot better than Mayweather. I hate Mayweather's mouth and how he would rather stink out an arena for a safe win than dare to be great. Still, Cotto is the type of fighter that meshes perfectly with his style for a thorough beating.

anyone can hit you and hurt you and cotto been hurt plenty and floyd really good at hitting you with shots you don't see coming and he is a good finisher 38 wins with 24 ko does not suggest the he is hitting with pillows.

I think Floyd beats Miguel by stoppage. I think Floyd will have Cotto hurt in the fight and he'll finish him off..he won't hold back and stay careful..with that said, you better watch out for that left hook to the body.

Floyd has 3 KO's in the past 6 years. Since he's moved up to WW he has KO'd Sharmba Mitchell, Ricky Hatton (who jumped face first into a punch and was a blown up JWW), and he sucker punched Ortiz. Floyd is fully capable of winning a very wide UD over Cotto, but I seriously doubt he has the power or work rate to hurt, much less stop Cotto.

Don't think so. It's exactly easy to finish Cotto off, he stays there all the way and fights even when hurt. Mayweather won't finish him, if a KO comes then it comes, if not then Mayweather will keep banking rounds till the end.

Floyd seems to be very trigger happy with the overhand right lately, a projected one at that...Cotto will time him and Floyd will hide behind his philly shell all night.
