Margarito-Williams - pick the winner

I'm taking Margarito by late TKO in a war. Here's my reasoning

Margarito's a proven commodity. We know he's relentless, has great stamina, and has very good power and a very solid chin. He can take a punch well and even when hurt has proven the ability to recover quickly.

I'm a big fan of Williams, I think he's one of the most fun to watch boxers out there. But he's there to be hit. He doesn't have a style that really is going to exploit Margarito's shortcomings. Williams has good but not great power, I don't think he has the power that's going to make Margarito stop and think twice. I still think Williams defense will leave him vulnerable against a big puncher like Margarito and I'm not 100% sold on his chin, I just don't know. People say that Matthyse is a big puncher because he has a really high KO percentage, then you look at the guys Matthyse has KO'd and you realize why it's so high, any top 30 welterweight would knock those guys out.

In a fight like this, I just have to pick the proven commodity. Two relentless fighters without much defense, who are not opposed to throwing 100 punches a round. I have to pick the guy with the better power, the better opposition, and the more proven chin in that case

I pretty much agree with that.

I wont be suprised by any result in this fight, except maybe an early KO. I aint to big on either fighter to be honest.

But Margarito has been in there with some good fighters whereas Williams is a little more of an unproven up and comer.

Im picking Magarito to storm home to edge the decision but I wouldnt rule out a behind points stoppage from Margs. Williams's workrate and size is definitely gonna take some rounds off Magarito.

My first thought, I was leaning towards williams. I'm impressed when he beat Mitchell. Then saw the Pakau fight, He looks average there, No Power & look slower but still a Busy fighter.

Then take a look at Margo's fight footage. Margo plant his feet better, More Power, Better Angles & Straighter Punches.
I pick Margo by KO around the 7-9 rds. Williams look Fragile & I Pick the Margo's Overhand Right to finish it.

Williams by decision, I actually haven't seen enough of Williams to know truly how good he is. But i am seen enough of Margarito to know he is not that skilled but hits very hard and has a good beard and stamina. I expect Williams to take the early rounds, with Margarito coming on around round 4 or 5. The key to the fight is 'sconditioning and chin, if they hold up I think he can outpoint the clumbsy but strong Margarito.
