No Prob Lance. But shit there was hardly time to blink in that Gamboa fight.
They are going to have Pavlik on tonight and specials about Ibragimov/Klit. Cool.

He looked good, but that fight was a damn joke. Gamboa was looked 2 weight classes above that kid.
No clue if he had power, as it didn't seem to be the power that put Edwards down, and Edwards just looked like a deer in headlights.
Gamboa is fast, but that fight didn't show shit.

Yeah, it would have been good to see atleast a couple rounds of action out of the kid, to see more of what he's got. That was a friggin blow out.

Regardless, he blew out his opponent like a prospect is supposed to and in amazing fashion.
He destroyed that guy easier than any of the more recent "prospects" we've seen.

I don't blame Gamboa for it though, he did was he should have, but still we didn't really see anything to gauge his future status, yet.
He will be fighting for a title though soon, that's for sure.
What are the thoughts on the Gutierrez-Varela headline?

I didnt see muc but from what i saw excellent mix of speed and power.
He reminds me of Guzman. Except faster and alot stronger.

Yes, this is what an ELITE prospect does. Anthony Peterson, Amir Khan, Andre Berto, Andy Lee, and all those other prospects don't do that to that level of a fighter. Gamboa is the real deal.

Exactly all those prospects dont even come close to Gamboa.
I have read alot about him and thought he might be overrated.
Not the case. You can tell when someone is gonna be great.
I would like to see him in with a gatekeeper like Juarez or Barrios. They are top names but i can see Gamboa beating them and also testing him to see if he is ready for the elite.

great US debut.
:yep Good post, as usual, Huki.I'm running around every Gamboa thread like a crackhead. I placed a large bet on the under and I'm on a betting high right now.
I do believe Gamboa is a future star though. There hasn't been a prospect that's looked this good in a long time.

Very good defense when he wants too. I didnt like that 6th round when he was just letting himself get hit. But i guess he knows he is in with lesser competition. Great speed, decent power. I think his opponent was pretty good too.

Yeah, I wrote that comment in the 4th, and by the time the 6th was up I was changin my mind a little bit. His opponent truly was a t. can, and he was letting him hang in there too much.

Well, I can say he wouldn't go away. lol. j/k I got excited in the 4th and thought Barthelamy was gonna get him out of there.

Well to me it seemed like everytime he got hurt he just didnt give a fuck and came back with everything. Which also made him wide open and Barthelamy should have taken him out but its ok he still got the win.

Yes, Barthelamy won a blow out hands down. The score cards were on the money, all rounds to Barthelamy. He did what he had to do, it may have been better had he not had to follow up that performance by Gamboa.
Still very impressive, and will most definately be watching for him in the future.

No shit me too. All that talk got me interested in him. I will keep watching him as long as he is on TV. There is no way Gamboa wont be getting a title by 2009.

:yep I agree 100%. Shit with that kind of excitement, it may be sooner, especially considering he is a Gold Medalist. They tend to get pushed thru a little quicker.
Shit, even Bronze Medalist are known to be in a Title fight by their 18th or so fight.:deal
