Danny needs to throw Briggs a lifeline for two reasons.

1. Briggs will hang it up after getting beaten, and
2. The fans want it !!!

Sucks, he's one of our top fighters. Green-Briggs would be some kind of send off. Who knows though, a win over Green and more likely than not he would continue on for some more bouts.

Briggs somehow always manages to escape criticism on this board and in the media. I honestly don't know how he does it.
He lost focus on hs own career, when he started to feature on Foxtels "Celebrity poker challenge" and commentate on Mundine fight nights. He also released a book, all without actually becoming a champion of any kind. Eeveryone has been way too easy on him!

He should stay as a boxing commontator.
He is probably the best Aussie based boxing commontator going around today.

Then again anyones better than the woeful Barry Michaels.:deal

Sad news from a fan's point of view, but it's his life and decision, so his fans ought to support whatever choice he makes.

Mmmmmmmmm why is that? But then again so does Kostya!
Two guys that could put their talent and name behind aussie boxing...but then again family comes first :good

I think he's done enough in both the boxing and kickboxing worlds to warrant a book, and from what i've heard its a good read.

Eeveryone has been way too easy on him!If Tim Henman feels he's done enough in life to make an autobiography, then Briggs should be aiming for a trilogy.

But seriously, the book is more about his life, and not just his boxing achievements. He was also a kick boxing world champion at a fairly young age, so even his achievements in sport warrant him making an autobiography.

I love Paul Briggs. But he is more of a family man now. I feel for the man. He will always be known for his wars with Tomasz.

Paul will always be the man.

This thread just reminded me i had a dream last night where Briggs kids died. I hope i'm not too psychic at the moment.

I think he's been out of the ring for too long now to come back to the level he was at. Still i think he could make some entertaining fights, i'd like to see him fight Diaconu, that would be a good one and a good win for Briggsy.

Briggs is far from retired. He's moved up to Qld, will be trained by ****** Footit and has his sights set on 168lbs.

He'll be targetting you know who...

Apparently with the correct diet he shouldn't have too much dramas getting down to 168lbs.

Ippy, I don't doubt that you get inside info regarding Briggs, and other fighters, but you've been wrong re Briggs a couple of times already in the past.

How certain are you that he'll be back, and at 168?

Personally I think it's a bad move, and he's better off at 175 if he were to continue on.

I mean Mundine. Did they par each other? Apparently they had some real gym wars. Would be a pretty interesting fight. I get the feeling that Choc is on the decline at the moment.

I don't think Mundine is on the decline, though by taking easy bouts he has let bad habits creep back into his game, simply because he can afford to do so.

It's been said to death already, but he really needs to step it up for his own good. The only domestic fight that makes sense atm would be Bika, yet theres talk of another Soliman bout. If it's in the contract, then I guess we can't blame Mundine completely.

If it is to happen, announce it now, get it over with in the next 3 months, then move on.

What he'll do, is fight the winner of Soliman/Hamden next.

Who do you think he will fight next, who would you like to see him fight next?1. You def are a hater.
2. Bute (and his management) would not to risk their paper title fighting Mundine yet.
3. Bika

1. Ok i am.
2. Battle of the paper champs hey.
3. Why did Bika pull out of fighting Andrede (spelling)

Maybe because he would have to fight Bute again?

Maybe because he would have to fight Bute again? No idea about this fight, but Andrade is fighting soon against Steiglitz (however you spell it) for a chance to fight Bute i think.

The only thing I've been wrong with was him fighting Woods. That was set to go until Tarver stepped up to the plate and nixed the deal. Him fighting at 168lbs comes the Nasty Boy, who is pumped to be training along side him again.
