It's almost as if there's a pink elephant in every room.

Hopkins is old. Roy Jones is shot. Tarver got embarrassed by Hopkins. Trinidad should be on his couch. Taylor is only just moving up (if he gets past Pavlik).

I'd love to see him fight Winky Wright. Here's hoping Winky can get past Hopkins, which is very much easier said than done.

I'd say it's either a rematch with Kessler or he'll fight Winky. Hopkins is a possiblity but he'd probably jump another 2 divisions to keep Calzaghe away.

It's unlikely that he'll stay at SMW if he beats Kessler. There are a few options:

1. If Calzaghe looks sloppy and the zip isn't there, it's time to retire - if he can't do it against Kessler, there's no point in continuing.

2. If he beats Kessler, his only remaining dream is to be a two weight world champion. That means Woods, or more likely Dawson as the US would clamour for that.

3. He stays at 168 and fights Hopkins/Winky

There's no point in staying in the SMW division after he beat Kessler - there are some good up and coming kids, but they are the next wave, not Calzaghe's problem.

Personally, I'd like to see him beat Kessler then one more fight - in the States, against the winner of Hopkins/Winky - hopefully BHop.

Winner of Taylor/Pavlik or Chad Dawson.

Highly doubtful.

Move up to light heavy, and fight Woods. Then maybe take on Dawson.

Though history says that he'll probably take easy fights for the next 2 years, so he'll probably give Ashira or Thornberry a rematch.

If he beats Kessler he should do one of two things. If he doesn't retire straight away, he should fight the very best (most dangerous/most likely to beat Calzaghe) guy at SMW and LHW (whoever that guy will be, in those two divisions). Thus, if, say, Dawson is better than a Taylor who has beaten Pavlik say, then he should fight Dawson.

Whatever he does, Calzaghe should not fight Names. If he still needs to redeem himself after Kessler, for whatever reason, he can only redeem himself by fighting the best, not the best known.
