Under the rule set of Willards era who would win?
Klitschko, obviously. The amount of rounds would make no difference as it would finish well under the 12 rounds Klitschko is used to. Wlad would outclass Willard extremely easily, and hurt him severely with right hands.
It'd last maybe 4 rounds.
If you think Dempsey made a mess out of Willard, think about what Klitschko would do.
Willard stands no chance.

I agree that Klitschko would outclass him easily but he would need a stopage to win and that might mean exposing himself to Willards counters.
If this is a twelve round fight then Klitschko should take it barring a fluke but the fact that it is not forces Wlad to fight in one of two ways he dosnt want to. He will have to either mix it up with Willard or be prepared to let it go to a war of atrition.

Klitschko is not Dempsey.
If Dempsey was nothing else he was an absolute master of the early knockout.
Another handicap Wlad has is that he must get used to different gloves, mouthpeice etc.

Wlad has been fighting big men most of his career, whereas Willard mainly enjoyed the privelage of always being the bigger guy dwarfing his opponents. He would not enjoy such an advantage against Klitscko. He would also be facing a big puncher who was a master of the jab.
I can't see Willard doing much here regardless of things like glove size, scheduled number of rounds, etc.

It would be nice if Wlad had a Jess Willard type uppercut.

Are we talking about the old, fat Willard who fought Dempsey or Willard at his peak?
I like Wlad in this but it is under Willard's rules so I have to assume it is over twenty rounds and I don't think Wlad goes that far. An upset is possible if Wlad proves unable to take Willard out early.

Over rated Wlad here, Wlad cant fight for 45 rounds imo. Hell base on last night's fight. Willard had a HIGHER punch output than Wlad.

Agreed, but who says it goes 45 rounds?
With the exception of his most recent fight, Wlad has often paced himself according to how well he can land on his opponent. Just watch the Mercer or the Brewster fights. He throws and lands a shitload of punches. I think he won't have much trouble landing on Willard. But if he fights scared like he did against Sultan then he'll probably win all of the first 15 rounds until he tires and gets TKO'd. Even then he does have a chance to stop Willard, though. It took Dempsey only a few punches to stagger Willard. But Willard is not an accurate southpaw with fast hands, i think it was the mental aspect of the Sanders bout that made him box the way he did.

If all Wlad did was held after every other punch, then I'd say he could go 45 rounds rather easily.

Wlad hits on Dempsey's level. Willard would not last 10 rounds.

Klitschko would kill him within 4 rounds. Unfair comparison.

Ha! Good point!...Following last night. I think Klitschko could go 45 rounds no problem...

Not sure if Wlad hits on the level of Dempsey, Wlad has of late not relly walk in and blow his foes out in Dempsey style.
