Let's say all Charles footage has been destroyed. Which fighter would you say has a lot in common with him, stylewise? Can be any weight class.

was watching Holyfield v. Qaui last night (what a great fight) and then I was watching Charles v. Louis, some similarities there. The way that Charles hops around but always within range and ready to mix it up. A bit of Holy and Charles similarities I would say.

Yep, I'd say early Holyfield too.

Charles v Holyfield at heavyweight. Both in their primes at the weight obviously. Interesting match-up. I reckon this would be a boxing match for long periods, with Holyfield and Charles both having their spells coming forward aggressively. Probably Holyfield would be inclined to stand and trade more than Charles.

Holyfield is a good mention, another master boxer. I do think Charles had more power, pound for pound. He was deadly at light heavyweight, a lot of stoppages.
Any others that come to mind? Seems he is quite a unique boxer-puncher.

I am not quite happy with the Holyfield comparison. I think charles was a lot more multi faceted than that.
He could fight in about four diferent ways and do all of them well.
The best comparison I can manage at this notice is Ezzard Charles.
