View Full Version : Anyone have a clue on whats up with my weight!!!!

Since september my weight has gone up something ridiculous is this normal the heaviest i have boxed at is 78kgs (last april) and i would always be around that weight maybe 81kgs max but now i am 88kgs going up one and a half kgs a month why is this if i am training still the same and eating healthy. I have just turned 18 but i am guessin it to late to be a growth spurt any one have a clue what the reason for this is.

Your starting to fill out. Most guys do around 18-19.

my legs have got much more musclular thats the only difference i have noticed really my friends have said my back has got alot bigger buti cant see my back lol it is freaking me out tho because i'm nearly the same weight as guys who use to be like 30 plus kgs heavier than me when i was 16 i think weight is more psychological than anything reli.how long will filling out go on for lol is there anyway to stop getting heavier because im only 6 foot and most guys 90kgs and up are about 6 foot 2 from what i have seen on shows

just measure myself and i have grown about 3cms since last year give or take a month i think that is just over an inch

I'm a full 10 kilos heavier than I was this time last year, but only in slightly worse shape.

im exactly the same height and weight
look a bit leaner tho
i think i stopped growin tall at 13 cuz i avent got any taller since
but i was massive compared to every1 then tho:yep

It could be based on your diet, or a change in your workout plan. I found myself gain about 10 pounds in 2 months through doing tons of squats, the increase testerone made me bigger I feel. If you eat alot of protein weight gain can happen easily, when I gained 25 pounds of mass in 5 and a half months, I did through an increase of protein, instead of taking .75 per pound, I increased it to 1.25 grams of protein for every pound I weighed.

Definitely not, it would be feat for someone without a personal trainer, nutritionalist, and maybe an illegal substance for me to gain 25 pounds of all muscle in such a short period of time. I went from 175- 200, in doing this I lost significant definition in my abdominal region, as well as overall body definition. The good things I achieved was huge increase in strength, arm size, and my chest went from slightly above average, to pretty big, in thickness and in size. If I could do it over again I would of took it slower, but my increase in protein did wonders for my mass, and my overall strength.

was you taking more kcals in aswel tho Yes, I had to take a shake or two a day to get that much protein in my system, as well as a ton of food, which it included Tuna, chicken, steak, etc... I didnt monitor my cal intake, so I cant tell you how many calories I took with the protein, but I did try to eat under 3,000 a day, kept away from fast food places for the most part as well.

its weird that you'd put on that amount of weight if you wernt overindulging on energy food

Protein was the key ingredient to my success, the funny part about it was, I always had a fast metabolism, so I'm sure my workout/protein method could work for anyone. Like I said in a earlier post, it was not all muscle by any means, but the mass I gained, made my dad question me wether I was on steroids or not. I measuered my arms before I started the plan, they were 14 and a half inches, 5 and a half months later they were 16 inches, which I feel was a significant gain at the time.

:happy so you acheived what you wanted Yes, it's rare when I actually accomplish something that fast. I wish I would of took it slower, but I'm happy with the results, it just took me a while to gain alot of the definition I lost through the mass gain, but everything you want comes at a price.

I think it's normal at your age, I had the same thing. Besides, there are 90kg guys that size, I for am one of them. I've seen plenty of heavies our size. How's your power? Good enough to keep the big guys honest?

omg this is the same thing that happend to me! I am going on 17 years old tho. a few months ago i started gaining weight out of nowhere and Now i cant get rid of it at ALL! one day I was 155 and I weighed myself in about a month later and I was 162, so i say ok its water. I weigh myself in again after another month and bam am all the way at 170. been stuck there ever since and I box and run 6 days a week and established a solid eating habit for 3 months now

Power has felt alot better as i have got heavier moving up to 78kg i actually scored a clean ko for first time in my life but i guess at that weight an accurate punch is gonna result in that. did it take you long to be ready for a bout when you moved up to heavyweight because from what i have seen on local shows is an almost a completely different flow of the bout compared to the lower weights. From that i mean more wrestling slower tempo cruder not sure how clear imade myself

same thing happend with me..last June I was 155, than in November i was 146, and now i am knocking on the door of 170 pounds

very very reassuring its not just me i was talking to a gym worker at the weekend and they said they think making weight when under 21 is very misunderstood in boxing circles where the majority of trainers aswel as boxers feel lighter is better.

gotta say 4 my 2 years fightin comptitivly i stayed at 56kg which is a kg under what i faught at
