very sad how he spent the later part of his life. But Sam himself said nobody should feel sorry for him and that he enjoyed his carrier alot. Sam estimated he had over 600 fights

He looked OK in the late 30s when he met Joe Louis. He was blind by this time but looked in decent physical shape.

Boxrec is an amazing site and a brilliant tool, but they will admit themselves they do not have all the answers, hell they do not even have all the questions!
Langford had more than 200 fights, I would stake my life on it. Same as Jimmy Wilde was not regularly fighting people making their pro debut in his 10th year as a pro. Same as Nigel Benn/Reggie Miller was not at Wembley but in Kensington on a different bill that night...
