yes mate I have that fight, Hussein was disgracefully dirty! It's gotta be up there with the dirtiest performance i have seen! I was very surprised coz all I had heard about the fight was Fenech complaining about the 'long count' by the ref Padilla. The ref did do Pacman a favor with that knockdown but Nedal was dirty as in that fight but I aint watched it for at least a couple of years now, it's at home somewhere!

I will give it to you I think you are very good at analyzing statistics. I simply do not have the patience. My record where I have actualled analyzed a good amount of footage of both fighters : Cotto v Zab, Diaz v Freitas, Williams v Marg ect has been good, but I fall down when I have only seen limited amounts of footage, as I tend to base my decisions on popular opinon more so then anything.

I would love to take the time next comp to analyze things properly, but I doubt i will. I just get bored with it. As much as people in the general tried to give you shit for using boxrec and other forms of boxing media to judge fighters when you haven't had the opportunity to see a lot of footage, it has worked well for you here.

Possible in the next competition we could attach odds to each fighter winning so it encourages to people to tips in terms of the payoff for picking a long because under the current system people are encourages to tip the safe bet and even if they get it wrong it doesn't impact their relative standing as most of the competition tipped the same way. My idea would spread the field out more and result in a greater diverity of tips (and more debate)

True we should definitely have some sort of brainstorming thread in preparation for next season, since the only thing we can really do at the moment is pick tricky fights to tip on to make things more interesting. I think the African has intimidated Medley a fair bit through the fight, Medley seems reluctant to get the front foot, moves back and lets the African come forward with the jab, pretty much negating Medleys longer reach. Medley had a bit of success inside early but, he lets the African come forward with the jab then let the combinations rip behind it, African always gets off first inside.

Medley was just intimidated by the task ahead i think and turned it on too late in rd 12 where he had the African where he should have had him from round 4. The uppercut should have come out a lot more. Medley threw one in rd 2 and landed and didn't throw it again til 11.

Hopefully he'll pick himself up and get something good from the loss.

He can improve a lot fairly easily though, he's got some flaws that wouldn't be impossible to fix, right too low, chin in the air, but when you've been boxing that long and still do those sorts of things, you wonder if he can change.

Fair enough. You can never count out guys like McCall because they are so unpredictable, but I just think style wise this is a very bad fight for him.
