If Ali was one of seven identical brothers, all of them made a career of boxing, and all of them had top trainers...how many would end up all time greats?

I would feel very sorry for Odessa Grady Clay if she gave birth to seven future 15 stone + men on the same day:tired

Well you're always asking about steroid treatments, clones, the chaos theory...you're not genetically engineering a horrible army are you? An Ali army?
Can you imagine the f*cking noise?

Henry Cooper was the inspiration for this thread. It's always interesting to me, considering how often we harp on the physical and genetic qualities of each fighter, when one twin does significantly better than the other. Talk about X-factor.

It would be the most obnoxious division ever. And the most competitive... Seven brothers, come on!

I absolutlely agree with you. But when you are talking about the absolute peak of something - in this case physicality, as it is employed in boxing - it's all X factor. Or at least, predominantly.
So sticking with Ali, what he had in physicality and genetics would carry him through his first reign as champ.
But only "IT" would carry him through the second.

I think it would monopolize the top ten all-time heavy lists everywhere- Think about it; seven brothers in the top ten? That doesn't leave much room for many of the other greats...

As were on the insane subject, which other three would you go with?
I got Louis, Liston and Johnson in there with them.

I just think we should make three Joe Frazier brothers and sit back, drink a cold one, and watch...

Only the one! It would be the one who had his bicycle stolen as a youth, and noticed a boxing poster at the police station when filing a complaint. Angry about his bicycle being stolen, the young boy named Classic Clay followed the address on the poster to the boxing gym. Clay’s purpose to learn boxing was just in case he ever meets the man who stole his bicycle. Without this random event of bad luck, there is no Ali.

One has to wonder how the family dynamic would effect the attitudes and personalities of the septuplets. This could be a key factor... :think

It is hard to believe that the Foreman twins would both be roped like dopes!

The other septuplet would have the same experiences that made Ali who he was. They wouldn't get as much attention from their mums, so they'd be very different people, not as mentally quick. Septuplet's are also likely to be smaller so no HW champ even if they excel at boxing. Would they get as much food to help them grow into strong young men?
But yea they obviously all have potential to be ATGs
