After Brewster was dominated, he was taken out of the Top10. Now they have Arreola in the Top10.

Arreola is a great prospect (20-0, 18kos) with a lot of power, but Top10 right now? I would have put this fighters above Arreola:

-Ruiz
-Rahman
-Holyfield
-Povetkin
-Thompson

Solis has beat better fighters after 3 fights. HTF did he make the top 10 , Chris hasnt even fought anyone. I seen he beat the HW managed by Denzel Washington but he was shit , although undefeated.

Nah I think Damian Wills was better than Sidon and the other two tomato cans.

Hell yeah!!!! Cant wait to see him really step up for a career defining fight!!!

FIRST HEAVY CHAMP FROM MEXICO!!!!

There goes a large amount of their credibility out the window  .
They are obviously looking for a young American who is starting to do stuff to put in their top 10 .

Don't get me wrong Arreola could turn out to be a very good heavyweight who could do more than deserve a top 10 ranking in the future.........but not now .

Forget your great White/Black hope , they are looking for a great American hope and in this case I feel they are trying to make/create one rather than they have found one .

Previously I played down The Ring's American Bias and that it was only minimal , but now my opinion has been slightly altered .

Nah I think Damian Wills was better than Sidon and the other two tomato cans.

Malcom Tann and Damian Norris (World Junior Champion in the amateurs for Cuba, since the fight with Arreola, he went downhill) were also good tests.

I think there is a little favoritism there. He is fighting a 12-8 fighter in his next fight, why??

Tann and Wills are two no hopers, with good records. Dimitrenko is going to easily dominate Tann this weekend. Tann is slow and easy to hit, the same could be said of Wills and even Chris himself who is very slow .

Because his fight will not be televised, his last fights were televised, this one not.

Why will their team pay for a decent opponent if the fight will not be show.

Maybe their hoping HBO will show highlites of a KO in 1 round.

Asterion, bro, Ruiz has not officially won a fight in three yeas, and has cleanly one only one (Rahmen) big time fight in his carrer.

The Holyfield fights, the Johnson debaucle, Toney, Golota , Oquendo- contorversies one and all.

In my humble, its time for Ruiz to go away.

Rahmen, I think, is something simliar. yeah, I know he was supposedly recently a champion. But winning an overglorified sparrig session to get the belt and drawing against Toney are nothing to write home about in my book. Again, you would have to go back to the first Lennox Lewis fight to see an example of a real victory over someone important.

He hasnt even fought since. You want to see how bad Tann is , watch what Dimitrenko does to him. Wills is about the same level as Tann.

Arreola already soft him up.

So is not going to be the same buddy :good

And Dimitrenko couldn't even KO

Koval, Zumbrun, Buttebean, Francis , Feliz , etc. :-(

He's representing US and Mexico

I might have gone with Tony Thompson, or possibly Eddie Chambers, but Arreola is hardly the worst candidate for a Top 10 rating.

geppy
07-10-2007, 06:20 PM
I would certainly rate the winner of Tony Thompson vs Luan Krasniqi into the top 10. So that ranking should not last long. I would rate either higher anyway as they are easily more proven fighters.I just was not imprssed , Arreola is really slow and limited.

What a joke. WHY???

This guy's record has a bigger selection of tomato cans than most supermarkets.

Has Arreola actually beaten anyone in the top 50? Or anywhere close to it for that matter?

But he keeps winning by KO. :good

He's very aggresive and with a lot heart.

And like some poster said, he reminds me of a Juan Diaz HW, but with much better power

I guess Ring is not much better than wbc, ibf or wba for that matter. Who did he beat to be even in the top 20, Malcolm Tann???. Even Chambers deserves to be ranked higher than Arreola, and I am not even talking about Povetkin.

Arreola is a good prospect and an entertaining fighter, but I can't rank him above Povetkin.

Heavyrighthand
07-10-2007, 06:45 PM
Povetkin and Ruiz, and even Thompson should all be ranked top ten, long before someone unknown and unproven, ( as of yet ) like Arreola.

Arreloa may work himself into a C level Sinan Samil Sam type fighter.

Kidding, of course. Who knows. He may turn out to be something, but I wasn't too impressed the one time I saw him fight.

Arreola is a decent prospect but way behind Povetkin and Chambers.IMO Chambers would easily out-point Arreola and Povetkin would KO him in 6 or 7

I agree in part. Ruiz has not won a fight in years and his career is full of fradulence and controversies, yes. But his close fights with Valuev and Chagaev make me think that he has something left.

Three relevant HW fights this weekend:

-Krasniqi (my #20) vs. Thompson (#14)
-Skelton (#16) vs. Sprott (#22)
-Arreola (my #25 :huh) vs. Derek Berry (...)

it was probably pretty even but they went with the exciting fighter...

That's what I also think.

They have been bringing Chambers up and he is mentioned a lot, but Areola has the pressure style big guy and the Ring is overating him based on who he has fought, Alexander Povetiken has fought better men

Sorry, Arreola may be promising, but IMO he is (like Povetkin) far away from the Top 10 until he beats bigger names.
I think Toney and Briggs still belong up there with the Krasniqi-Thompson winner.

I've only seen him fight once, against Wills, he looked decent but not top 10 class in that fight. There are better fighters out there who are not in the top 10, Povetkin being the obvious example.

I am convinced The Ring's staff is ignorant and/or just choses the different networks' flavor of the month. These guys are jokes. Brock, Krasniqi, Thompson, Ruiz and even Povetkin deserve a higher ranking.

As far as Dimitrenko fighting Tann, I am convinced Dimitrenko isn't world class and will end up being Euro level talent.

Anyway what am I saying, Chagaev beats more guys in the top ten in the last year than anyone else but The Ring still decides to rate him number four, forget The Ring and its joke rankings, at least the ABC's make a fighter face off against their number one contender who is probably as deserving as The Ring's number one.
