Fresh off the press- Mundine is out indefinitely due to tearing the bicep muscle off the bone. Had an op this week. Said was done late in the fight.
:-D Now for the sh*t stirring- Another poor excuse to avoid his mandatory against Kessler I guess?! Watch when he comes back;
- "I am the greatest but need 2 or 3 fights before I fight anyone that is even close to my weight or ranked in the top 100"....
- "I beat up a taxi driver with 1 1/2 arms"
- "I'll fight anyone, anywhere when I return... after I rip off the public a bit more fighting a couple of bums"
:huh
Ummmmm
just one thing...
How the F*@K is having you bicep torn off your F&@king bone and having to have an OP because of it a "poor excuse"??????
:patsch
You are delusional in your own hate mate...
Go and play with you Mundine voodoo doll...

he may have hurt his arm but i doubt he ripped the muscle off the bone - if that were the case he wouldnt be able to move his arm at all
either way its a legitimate excuse and would have hurt like shit

Hmm. He was calling Calzaghe out after the fight, and only asked for 3 months notice. Noone thought it was a major injury.

Show's the haters from the critics who can actually back it up with reason.

i know there is alot boxing to watch and i will be watching it, but in the SMW division he is a genuine chance of being champ thats why if it's true i think it will be a bit dissapointing

he is young and in great shape so recovery probably wont be too long - the footy guys who get the same injury only stay out for 4-5 weeks :D
he will be back beating up bus drivers by sep/oct

haha, well if thats the case thats good. i think when he takes on a top ten fighter in the next fight which i thnk he will, that fighter will then automatically be a bus driver. just because mundine beat him..

well how long was Andrew Symmonds out from cricket. i remember he tore his bicep off the bone also in i think it was late January against the Poms and made a come back late in the World Cup Tournement.
im pretty sure if i can remember correctly it took him from late Jan to late March. so 8 weeks but then again some people heel different than others.
so i would say 3 months to be sure before he probably even enters a sparring session.

Yeah at least 3 months if it's as serious as mentioned in previous posts...........doesn't matter anyway, Calzaghe and Kessler fight in Nov 07, so the winner or loser can't fight Mundine until March 08 i would think.

Disappointing for the haters as well I would have thought as they are generally the first to Mundine fights to see him KO'd. Injurys like this can't be good for a guy who relies on speed. He should take an easy comeback warmup fight I would say against Danny Green.

What a shame.A real injury and all you get is knockers.I would not wish this injury on any fighter let alone one of Ausies best.

Mundine needs time before his next opening presents itself so this is a great reason not to fight anybody until a good percentage fight comes his way.

Agree. Dorian Yates did the same injury and went on to win Mr Olympia about 3 months (I think) later.
But if Calzaghe and Kessler are fighting in November, then I guess that gives Mundine an excuse to fight another taxi driver if he fights again this year.

So I guess we can expect mundine to be another holyfield, hopkins fighting into his forties! These openings don't come around often so he needs to really get out and chase the big ones.
Mundine will win a real title! But please do it in my life time.

Do you think perhaps that the talk about the extent of his injury might be somewhat exagerated?

OK THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF mundine is so fuking good lets see him come back from a two year layoff and then fight the best in the division and knock the guy out.
Thats exactly what kostya did when he fought S.Mitchell for the second time, he didnt need any warm up fights
So put your money where your mouth is Mundine and cut the crap and fight a decent fighter on your return you shit talking show pony.

Mitchell was regarded the best in the division at the time you dopey fuck, then again his name isn't Mundine so you probably never seen or heard of him before.

shane I was in the crowd at the Kostya v Sharmba fight. I know a bit about it, dimwit. If you wanna give Kostya credit for his victory over Sharmba you've gotta give Mundine credit for his victory over Echols who was equally rated before the fight and equally denegrated after the fight. Sharmba was well past it the second time they meet.

You seriously can't be this stupid can you ?, Mitchell was active and on an unbeaten run at the time, Echols who never held a belt claim to fame was being beat up by Hopkins twice. I should be getting paid for constantly giving your dumb arse lessons all the time.
