In the last round of the fight, Israel landed big shots and send Rafael at the corner wobbling and holding the ropes.
The ref, called it a KD and, evidently Rafa's manager says it is not.
So ? Was it a legit knock down or not ?
I would have scored the last round 10 - 8 for Vasquez anyway. He was dominating and landing bombs thoughout the last round.

You can't use the ropes to help keep yourself up & thats what Marquez did there. Or if it wasn't for the ropes, he woulda went down. Good call by the ref & sour grapes by Marquez, but you can't blame him. He (both guys) fought their hearts out.

And part of your body that Touches the Mat - other than your feet - is a Knock Down.
Or
If the Ropes keep you from being Knocked Down - that is also a Knock Down.
Marquez grabbed on the Ropes and Bounced off the Ropes to keep from being Knocked Down - so:
YES - IT WAS A LEGAL KNOCK DOWN!

Yep, I cant stand it when a fight is determined because of a questionable point deduction. The fight was way too great to be decided with a call like that. Amazing.

Yes, that was a legal knockdown as he had both hands on rope keeping him up. Great fight.

The bullshit like Freddy said was the low blow, none of them were either low or deliberate, very harsh deduction. Even with the knockdown and the deduction I still score the fight for Marquez by one point, he was landing the jab in doubles and triples at will, he's a great fighter as is Vasquez.

Vazquez was the stronger man and deserved to win, I thought. Marquez was seconds away from being stopped, sort of like Allan Green against Edison Miranda. He was getting tagged right and left.
And Marquez did go low on several occasions, so I was OK with a point deduction. In any case, it didn't determine the outcome as to who was the better man on that night. It was Vazquez's fight.

The ref did a great job and the low blow call was good as well as the KD in the 12th and I am Marquez fan, congratulations to Vazquez great performance.

I thought there were a handful of low blows while watching live. I'll have to look at it again. Still, Vazquez proved over the final two bouts that he's just a little too much for Marquez. Thirty more seconds, and I don't think Marquez would have made it to the final bell.

Legit knockdown, the ropes held him up. The questionable call was the low blow. I thought it was on the beltline, but there had been at least 4 low before that.

I had 113-112 in favor of Vasquez at the end of the fight. Very close fight.
A fourth fight would be awesome again but it would be too much for them too handle, they need at least a complete year to recover from their trilogy.

I hope both of these guys are approach retirement. Taking that much punishment is awful for the brain, and both are now post-30, which is getting up there for that weight range.
At the minimum, I hope they both choose their next couple of opponents very carefully. They deserve to make more money, and hopefully they can do that without having to go to war again.

yeah that was DEFINETLY a knock down. He went reeling back into the ropes and would of went flying out of the ring if the ropes werent there.
