View Full Version : Pittman vs Sturm

I dont know to much about this fight but it seems like a very interesting one to me. Sturm has the experience, the hometown advantage (which is HUGE in Germany) and is a little tricky. But he is coming off a poor performance which IMO he lost. Pittman is young, hungry and has built some momentum. He is a tricky southpaw and moves very well. How ever he might be a little green to step up this early in his career. How do you guys see this one going? Can Pittman win on points or does he need the knockout? Is he stylistically superior?

I think he can win on points, not all fights in Germany are fixed. But i see Sturm already has his next fight in the works, so i hope it still is on.

I dont think Pitman would KO Sterm, he is battle tested and wont hit the deck easy.

I'm tipping Pittman to win this and there'll be a rematch clause in the contract. If he wins that, he'll keep fighting in Germany.

IMO this will be a good betting match because the bookies will under rate Pittman :deal

Pittman will put up an impressive showing.
Im not so certain he will get the win tho.

what sort of odds do you think it will get?

i was thinking 1.75 for sturm and maybe 2.60 for Pittman?

Sounds good. There's a lot of talk on the net about Pittman in an upset. Hope the bookies don't have their finger on the pulse.

Why would Pittman keep fighting in Germany for??

Often fighters who get shots when they aren't mandatory sign away their next few fights if they do happen to win.

I'm on the NSW Central Coast, Pitman's home.
On the local radio station they are selling 100 "team Pitman" type packages that you buy to provide support for Jamie. It costs $1000 to join team Pitman. Not sure if he'll get 100 Coasties signing up for that. If anyone's interested in getting behind him call Dean at Iguana Joe's in Gosford, sorry don't know the number but you can find it easy on the net.

Didn't Peden claim he slept with Campbells missus or something like that and that's why they didn't like each other?

Anyone know if the Pittman fight will be on *******?

On an unrelated note those new powerade pre-workout and post-workout drinks taste absolutely fucking disgusting.

Great article.... Makes you realise the sacrifices these guys make. Couldn't be behind him anymore on this one. Would love nothing more then to see him come back with a title.

Probably because they are useless and are total bullocks.

Waste of time mate.

Best pre/post workout drinks are protein drinks or good old water and munching on a banana.

The banana is great for post workout.

What kind of training are you doing??
and what results with your body you trying to get??

I'm an AM boxer, i have a pretty good idea about nutrition, just tried them the other day because i like regular powerade, the pre workout one has caffeine and the post workout has protein, both taste like sewer water. Yeah bananas are great, only take like 5 minutes to digest :good

Thanks man appreciate it.

I'm 64/69 weight division, i've gone through abit of a growth spurt in the last couple months which i was surprised at (i'm 22), i'm now 6'1 and around 70kg with low bodyfat so i don't think i can get down too much below 69 anymore. I know that probably sounds like i'm a twig to you since you played rugby but i swear i'm muscled up :D I've just got little girl bones...........

Mate i had a few fights myself so i know you have to be lean as.

Im 22 6ft and around 86kgs as we speak.

If i were to fight now it would be a very tough task for me to even think about getting below 80.I dont have much fat on me.

Have you had any bouts yet???

When i was boxing i was around the same weight and height. You can be muscled, but its all very lean, not bulky at all. Thats what i found with me anyway, i had great definition, but i wasn't bulky in the slightest.

Yeah i'm just a novice at the moment, i've had a couple of fights (won), i'm on the rise! Nah, i should do well if i stick with it, i'm a southpaw with good speed. I was a bit of a late starter but i love boxing, just the fitness and discipline aspects of it make it worth it, both things i lacked until i was about 18 or so.

Yeah that goes to show that people the same height can be totally different sizes, it annoys me when someone says 6ft tall is 6ft tall- that's the same size, look at a guy like Tyson, short with no fat but a naturally broad 95-100 kg or whatever he was. That BMI thing is a crock.

Yeah same, though my shoulders i sometimes think are a bit bulky/disproportionate, i avoided doing pushups for awhile because i didn't want them to get any bigger, i do them now and it seems they are good for arm stamina without doing much to the size. I blame my old man, he was a little guy who wrestled so he has those shoulders.
