Interesting fight, unfortunately I haven't even seen a second of Hanshaw in action. I've seen Mendy (who Hanshaw drew with) and while Mendy is better than Ajamu, in my opinion he's still not as good as this faded version of Jones.
I'm interested in what sort of chance you guys who have seen Hanshaw in action lately give him :good

jones ud 118-112
That's interesting. What is that in rounds? 8 rounds to 2 with 2 even?
And you know ALL that before the fight?

THis fight will do horrible PPV numbers. Im suprised Showtime didnt grab it. Jones is fighting a no namer, with no power, so if he gets ko'd, his career should be over.

His career is already essentially over. This is just the dog and pony show for people that still want to see him. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people, but I also know that he won't ever be a significant player in the sport again.

Ticket Sales are weak too. I wonder who scripted the skit over at the IP Biloxi? "Jones Jr. won't let Hanshaw train at the IP for a second day".

Honestly, if I took the time to truck in my own gym to train, I wouldnt let my opponent use it either. Why is it Roy Jones responsibility to provide his opponent with boxing equipment. He might as well give him some shoes and boxing trunks while hes at it. I dont blame Jones for not letting him use his equipment, I wouldnt either.

You joke, but the story was submitted by Jones's promoter. It's a complete non-issue.

I'm not a big Jones fan, but realistically Hanshaw and Mendy are top 20 supermiddleweights (probably 15-20), both deserving of a higher ranking than Manfredo imo.
So if Jones beats Hanshaw, he could suddenly be a legitimate top 20 supermiddle, possibly 10-15 in the unlikely even he has an impressive win. After that he might only be a fight away from a top 10 ranking if he can line up the right opponent (maybe Bika or Tsypko). I wouldn't be surprised to see him get another title shot at this point (maybe he'll get it sooner or with an easier opponent, wouldn't be a surprise), who knows, he might even line up a fight with Taylor at this weight.

what weight is this fight being fought at because hanshaw is a supermiddleweight and jones had trouble making the light heavyweight limit in his last fight ?

And I think it's a 12 round fight instead of 10. Hanshaw has some bullshit fringe title.

so no one thinks roy will get the KO, or is Roy UD just the best bet you can make ala Floyd UD? Or does Roy not have enough pop left to do any damage?

Hanshaw does not seem so solid, he was hurt by Mendy and it was before the cut...

In a way I hope this is a fight that was made purely to make Jones look good. I wanna see him knock somebody out...it's been waaayyyyy too long...

How can Jones even think hes gonna get back to were he is (Hes not of course) but how can he when hes only fighting once a year, its nearly a year since he beat Ajamu and with a years ring rust his skills will only decline further any one else agree?
