Will Marque-Vasquez be fight of the year again??

SO far that is the front runner according to me.
Is it to the rest of you guys??
You had everything involved in that fight action, elite level fighters, dramatic finish, controversial decision(according to some, that 12th round made me give it to Vasquez), and of course blood and guts type of fight.

If you dont think so what fight is ahead of this one and which others are possible FOTY that can surpass this one.

Wow i was expecting people to say it wont hold up especially since its so early in they year but it looks like people are finally seeing the greatness in this trilogy.

It would be hard to beat that kind of performance by other fighters, the fight was close, both score knockdowns and not only that, they showed great technical skills at the same time, 12 rounds of nonstop action.

Cotto-Margarito Two heavy hitters who are big names and always come to fight.
Diaz-Katsidis Do i even need to explain this one?
Pac-Diaz Would probably be a complete domination but it would be interesting and action packed.
Andrade-Miranda One fighter has awesome power the other has good power and an Iron chin.

I still think Vas/Mar 3 will get it. There was just so much in that fight that you cant describe, truly amazing.

Gatti-Ward I and Gatti Ward III got fight of the years in 2002 and 2003, and in 2001 Ward-Augustus won FOTY, Micky ward three years running!! nobody has ever done that before to my knowledge.

yes! I think it has an added advantage given the history that surrounds this match-ups (i.e. there is probably a sentimental element that comes into play as well). It’s the third and hopefully final installment of probably the best or second best trilogy of all time. It would only be fitting that it won fight of the year and that round four was round of the year. :good

Lets just put it this way: if another fight is to be fight of the year it will have to be significantly (undeniably) better then this fight. If not the vote goes to this fight.

Why do people always question Diaz's power. Its there. Hes not a 1 punch KO type of fighter but he makes fighters quit. I think thats actually worst than being KO'd. If you are taking so much punishment that you want to quit that means those punches are definately hurting you.

well we question his power bc its not there....being able to knock someone out when u hit them 1000 times doesnt mean u have a hard punch. i said it will be entertaining but marquez and vasques' fight will probably be better because they do have the harder flashier punches.

Yeah, we have 9 1/2 more months this year, but it's gonna be pretty hard to top these warriors....

P4P level fighters with alot of skill....I actually watched the fight again yesterday (I love OnDemand), and what I didn't notice on Saturday (besides being fried out of my mind) was that they were actually pretty good defensively, unlike Gatti and Ward where it was "you hit me and I'll hit you back."

Marquez was slipping punches very well, just a great, great fight.:happy :happy
