Bad idea for Mesi. Wlad will destroy him and probably cause some permanent damage.

I think he only says that because of his style matchup. He has a better chance pressing Wlad than trying to chase Iggy.

I cant see why Mesi is still relevant.. The combined record of his opponents on his comeback is 94-70-5... He needs to step up his game before he can even start to mention fights like that

Mesi has said before that he feels more comfortable fighting bigger guys.

Fighting Wlad would also pay him significantly more than a fight with Sultan.

Mesi, with a few more good showings and conditioning, could beat Wlad.

Yes, I did say that.

Yes, I did say that.
He'd probably beat Peter right now.

i think joe has gone too long without facing a quality opponent to be a serious contender at his age

Yeah of course he would, hell get a better payday

blood_lust
03-05-2008, 10:53 PM
Mesi is saying that becausehe knows he would get a big payday with Wlad, whereas he wouldn't with Ibragimov. He would get stopped by either guy and he knows it. Mesi is just trying to cash out to have money for his political career.

Terry Smith is a good bout for Mesi to make. Let's see how he does against Smith and go from there.

Dah:?

Both would knock Mesi out, but he would get paid twice as much to get waxed by Wlad then he would to get waxed by Saltan.........If your going to get knocked out you may as well be paid for it...BTW Mesi is a FREAKING MORON to be fightng.

Mesi wants Vlad.
This is conclusive proof that he has suffered permenant brain damage.
And if he doesnt have cranial damage, he sure will have if he steps in to the ring with Vlad.
He cant beat anybody in the top 40.
Ranked #53 by Boxing records.
Doesnt have the balls to fight a contender.
Completely delusional.
Or it is just the money.
Prove me wrong and fight SOMEBODY and show your worthy instead of bringing "Tomato Cans" to pad your record.

Every1 is making out Mesi called Vlad out or something:huh .

All he said was that he would prefer to fight Vlad more then Sultan when being asked about his thoughts of their recent bout.

You could say Mesi actually called out Rahman and Brewster.

The person that started this thread must be the only person not to find the logical and ONLY reasons why Mesi would rather fight Vlad then Sultan if given the chance....

Easy answer$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and titles.

Mesi got rocked (perminant brain damage) by Jirov the same guy who lost to James Toney (a blown up middleweight)
Wlad would kill Mesi literally ...

Joe thinks what every heavyweight who hasn't fought Wlad thinks -- you pressure him and tap on that chin and you can win but Joe has to think how can you get past that Jab. When he lost to Brewster, Brewster took alot of punishment on route to the knockout. Sanders was Wlads size and had alot of power in his left, Purity is also a bigger HW and Wlad just ran out of gas.

Mesi looked very shaky vs Barrett and a washed up Jirov. He barely took both decisions, and back then he was in his prime without any worries.

SavonSolis is right. Mesi comeback hasn't proved anything besides he can beat journeyman. If Mesi wants to earn a title shot, let him fight McCall, Virchis, Gomez, or anyone else in not currently in line for a title shot. We are not seeing that. Mesi is now a protected fighter with a fan base. It looks like he's trying to cash out. As soon as Mesi get's Knocked out, he's done for.

All fighters what to fight Wlad. He is where the money is. Mesi and Wlad could fight in Madison Square Garden. That fight would sell due to Mesi’s delusional fan base. Or they could fight in Germany, where Wlad can sell out an arena all by himself. I want to see Wlad fight the best poltics will allow. Mesi isn't it.

But make no mistake about it, Wlad would dust Mesi inside of four rounds.

As toney said, mesi talks about fights but than fights Terry "Bumfield" in Hicktown. Brester and Toney called him out on another site b/c Mesi acts like he wants to fight Brewster or Toney but somehow always manages to be in a ring with "bums" as Tony put it.

im not a fan of mesi but he can make some noise... ill feel sorry for him if he fights Wlad, Wlad will Brock him after some rough rounds.

Ignorance. And yet another example of a Wlad lover hating Peter and being biased. Mesi is nowhere near contender status. Just because Peter made Wlad panic for 12 rounds and clutch and hold all night, please don not hate Peter for that.:smoke

:rofl First of all, I am a Peter fan. Second, I was joking because I know that the water head who said that Mesi would beat Wlad is a rabid Peter fan. However, I do think that Mesi is being very underrated here. I don't know how close he can get back to his old form.... but he was a very good heavyweight before that epic shot to the back of his head. I don't worry about any further damage, because he doesn't have any pre-existing injury left on his brain. I worry about a guy who was just reaching the top of his game, being put on the shelf for over two years, and not even being allowed to spar. Mesi's injury was nothing more than a broken blood vessel in the brain which happens to football players all the time, and they play the next week. A severe brain bleed is one thing... but Mesi had bleeding the size of the tip of a pencil, and then it was absorbed back into the brain and doesn't even exist anymore. You can't reinjure something that doesn't exist. Them punishing him for taking it upon himself to seek medical attention was an awful move, IMO. All that did was scare other fighters away from looking after themselves for fear of losing their boxing career. Not to say that the injury didn't hurt him in the fight. You can clearly see that after that blow to the back of his head, he was completely out of it. It definitely effected him, as he was absolutely tooling Jirov up to that point.

Mesi got basic boxing skills with good power, even in his prime 02-03, he would of never won a title, his chin is almost as weak as Wlads, both Barret and Jirov gave him hell in the ring, I could only imagine what a Brewster or even worse, what Wlad would do to him. His only real chance of beating Wlad, is to go out guns bazing, and try to get Wlad into a panic attack, other than that, Wlad TkO's him by round 6.

this guy is very articulate and has a good voice. he should just stick to broadcasting. One straight right hand from wlad and he would be comatose

"it wasnt Jirov's hard punches putting me down, i just didnt know where i was" dude wtf

anyone know the story with atlas. why does he hate klitschko so much? i think he's picked him to lose the last 3 or 4 times. i wonder if ESBs "Derrick" is really teddy atlas :think

Correct. He always picks against Klitschko and always has bad things to say about them.
