View Full Version : Miranda vs. Mundine?

On the esb homepage there was an article saying that apparently kessler turned down an offer to fight Miranda at 168. Miranda went on to call out any of the top SMW's..
Who wins?
Do you think this is a fight Mundine could get (if he wanted it..) ?
What do you think a win over Miranda would do for him?
Cheers!

Miranda isnt a pure boxer but he has some crazy power, i cant see Choc taking the fight, even though he shit on wanting to fight the best
Miranda takes on anyone, and Mundine would never consider this fight.

Gotta agree, Bumdine aint gonna risk fighting a Miranda type opponent.
He can just keep on fighting the WBA number 15th ranked contender.:yep
Well it would be a good name for some U.S exposure, but yer...Miranda is a dangerous fighter.
How about Bika-Miranda? would be a decent scrap.

It'd be the perfect fight to get Mundine started in the US, and with Green seeming reluctant to fight him in the near future, I don't see why it can't happen. Piss the Soliman rematch off till after, or better yet, off completely.

I'd watch that, for sure. I'd have my money on Miranda though.

I'd watch that, for sure. I'd have my money on Miranda though.Yeah same. I think Sakio's going about as well as he can atm. Raise the bar even the slightest bit higher and he'll probably lose.

i think unless miranda got a belt for choc, choc wont go near him, choc seems to fight the big guns only if theres a title and big bucks involved.

lol at this thread mundine needs serious cahones (balls) to fight miranda, it will never happen owww how people dream lol, im in hysterics if anyone actually thinks mundine will get out of his shell and fight someone like this.... mundine will prob more then likely take on his previous opponent in david banks...

Agree. If you told me before he went on the Contender that he'd manage to get himself a profile like he seems to have now, I wouldn't have believed it. Good luck to him.

Miranda is way 2 much risk for Mundine.....in saying that if miranda had a belt then it might be on.
Same ole song, Mundfine wont fight this person Mundine wont fight that person. H'es basically fought every fighter you gooses promised me he wouldnt :lol:
Mundine UD Miranda. I dont think Miranda suits the higher weight class.

Pedro ,Spot on post man , Bika has the biggest balls in Austrlia when it comes to who he fights , fair go to him he has fought Beyer , Calzaghe , Bute etc ,ok he rarely wins but he has the ability to give any Player a run for his money , Thats why Mudine would be wise to duck him , Bika has Improved and Choc has slipped .
Lol I dont think this fight will happen. But if it does, i say Mundine by UD. The problem is, if that happens everyone will just go preaching "oh but miranda was a blown up middleweight anyways, big deal". Just remember this thread when that happens (if it does)...

I would have this as a 50/50 fight.
Miranda is crude so Bika's ackwardness could cause him troubles.

It was the last straw for me when it came to taking the columnists on the esb frontpage seriously when they said Miranda is the most exciting warrior in boxing today.
We are talking about a bloke that got punished by the ghost and other then his fan friendly slugger fighting style he aint got much.
Definetly cause many of the top tier major headaches but when push comes to shove he will be beaten by the likes of Kessler and Mundine.
Im just struggling to see where the hype on Miranda is coming from.

Thats all Miranda has.A big punch which isnt uncommon in boxing.
The bloke didnt fight for a world title in middleweight let alone win one. Now hes up to supermiddle and suddenly we are suppose to unzip and stroke ourselves over this bloke:huh .
Im watching Talladega nights on fox for like the 1millionth time and shit its still great...

Edison Miranda fought for the IBF Middlweight Championship against Arthur Abraham in Germany which he lost by UD

Miranda KO's Mundine inside 5 rounds! This fight won't happen, Mundine will run far and run fast from ever signing on to fight Miranda.

True.My bad...
Enough said about Miranda as i dont rate him and yes we all know Mundine wont fight him as there aint any need for him to take on the bloke.
Unfortunetly fights aint made on what boxing fans want.

Very true.
Bika is the better boxer believe it or not. Sakio judges distance well and is suprisingly accurate with his style of punching.
But Miranda has bone crunching power and doesnt muck around (neither does Sakio for that matter).
Both are rough and somewhat dirty, Miranda edges that department.
I think Sakio could grind out the win and stop him late, I really want to see this fight and it would rate well in the States.

Mundine will run far and run fast from ever signing on to fight Miranda.
Or maybe Mundine will stay where he is holding his title making the big bucks fighting tin cans whilst Miranda searches desperately for another crack at the bigtime.
Ppl are really clutching at straws to shot the mouth done these days.
How about Mundine vs Samuel Peter???
Mundine wouldnt dare take that fight would he??would he??
Anyone with half a brain would know by now that mundine will either have his rematch vs Green, fight a lower ranked challenger who really aint a threat or a fight with a fellow titlelist.
ALSO
The long shot could be a big money clash with Kessler.Real long shot.
We all know that this thread was only ever going to get answered with a no on Mundines behalf.Fight will never happen unless Miranda gathers a title.
Now time to delete this thread and talk some ozzie boxing, nrl or just something other then fights that wont take place regarding Mundine.
Im over it.

Im over it.Most people who post about wanting to see Mundine step it up follow it up with saying that he should rematch Kessler. Most of them just want to see him get beaten, thougn you're excluded because you think he can beat him in a rematch.
It's funny how Mundine will come under the hammer for chasing a Green rematch, yet Kessler wouldn't if he remacted Mundine, nor would Green get ridiculed for not accepting a Mundine rematch. :hey
While I don't condone him fighting bums for the rest of his career, it is ok for him to build a career (having Green, then Soliman as scalps), and not just aim and fail for greatness which would probably be the case if he kept taiking of guys like Kessler, ect.

Anyone who would say that does not know boxing. Miranda is by far one of the biggest, if not the biggest 168lbs today. He was 192lbs in the ring for his fight with David Banks. He may well look huge in the ring against Mudine if the fight ever came about.

Thats ridiculous. True OZ ,if a lighter Miranda ran out of steam against Pavlik then he needs to be banging everone out within the first few rounds weighing in @192 or his arse is going to get KTFO again if he ever goes beyond 5 rounds ,,Mundine has the ability to stay out of trouble for that amount of time , and has by far the better skills in ever department than Miranda imo .

Im just struggling to understand the hype behind Miranda?
He hasnt beaten anyone to crow about and has been left looking at most a desperate slugger when faced against top tier opposition.
Schooled by abraham and starched by Pavlik yet he is going to be a force as a super middle??
Sluggers chance i quess.

Yes the cobby cunt can bang alright and thats why roughly 90% of the boxing world would tip him to do a number on Mundine ,but Mundine would be way too alert for the hayemaker imo ,All Mundine would have to do is a rope a doper job on the fucker , however looking at the thread above re Sam we probably will never get to see what this fella could have been aye ? Maybe schooled is inaccurate but due to miranda's dirty tactics and failure to finsh a broken man he went home without the title.
But anything negetive i say about miranda(even valid points) would probably get shot down by a nuthugger such as yourself.
Miranda aint going to win a world title as a super middle.......
He will retire without a significant victory and defeats in all attempts to step up in opposition.
Allan Greens and Howard Eastman's are as good as it will get for the limited slugger.
People keep forgetting how much of a wanker Miranda was pre Pavlik fight.Too busy looking ahead instead of focusing on the Ghost.
Shit it was a great effort from Miranda......Blocking all Pavliks shots with his head..:good

Yeah he is a solid top 15 contender if u ask me.
Would have him close to top 10, tho should he hammer Pascal he would squeeze in top 10 for sure.
