More Punching Power? David Tua or Rocky Marciano

No brainer, Tua had 45lbs minimum on Marciano.

But coward as I am, I would take Tua's left hook because that has more chance of knocking flat out... Marciano might of been fast enough to catch me with another as I hit the deck against him!;)

tua's hook had alot of snap but only his left hand was immensly powerful.

marciano had alot of power but it was more of a crushing shot...kinda like chavez as they hit alot and tho they dont have the crack ,they break bones and jaws.

difference in hitting.

i voted for tua because i think that for those one time shots like what he hit ruiz with he had more power but as far as the power he is able to put in every single punch in a sustained attack i think marciano had him and just about everyone else beaten cleanly

It can be argued that Tua's left hook was harder than anything Marciano threw, but Marciano had much better two-handed power and variety/array of knockout punches.

Marciano knocked Carmine Vingo(who was described in newspaper accounts as "rugged" and being known for his toughness and durability) out cold and put him in a coma, knocked Louis sprawling for the first count, brutally knocked out "Kid" Matthews(in the only time Matthews was ever truly knocked out in over 100 pro fights[he was stopped on his feet once eight years earlier and suffered a TKO due to a back injury later on, but was never knocked out aside from this fight]), finished off Archie Moore, etc. all with his left.

Marciano knocked Rex Layne(who was widely reputed for his durability at the time and described as having a "coconut-like noggin" by the RING, May 1951) out cold and broke his front teeth out, knocked Louis out of the ring, knocked Jersey Joe Walcott out stone cold out of the blue, took him out in one round in the rematch, etc., all with his right.

Among these knockouts, he floored and stopped opponents using hooks, crosses, and uppercuts, frequently using unorthodox form or from unusual angles. In short, Marciano was an absolutely exceptional two-handed and full-arsenal knockout puncher. On the other hand, nearly all of Tua's noteworthy knockdowns and knockouts were scored with the same left hook. The only time he stopped a semi-name opponent with a right that I can think of is the Oquendo fight- this, of course, being the same Oquendo who is John Ruiz's only stoppage victim in the last 7 years.

Apples and oranges. His right hook to the body was mostly intended to put hurt on them and make them drop their guard down (not wanting to receive more such blows to that tender mark).

I tend to agree. Tuas left hook was as good as powerfull as any that I have ever seen.

In terms of technique however Marciano did everything much better. This fact only underlines the case for Tua having more raw power.
